England player suffers horrific injury after Mexico game despite not playing a single minute
England’s huge World Cup win early this morning also came with an unfortunate sour note.
Jordan Henderson was rushed to hospital after suffering a ‘really bad’ injury celebrating the Three Lions' 3-2 victory against Mexico at the Azteca Stadium. England's medical team have now shared a devastating update.
The Brentford midfielder didn’t actually play during the game, but he managed to hurt himself following the full-time whistle.
Videos show Henderson apparently trying to hurdle the advertising hoardings before suffering a bad fall.

Medical teams rushed to the scene and others formed a ring of privacy after the fall as his teammates watched nervously before he was helped onto a stretcher.
Henderson was carried away into the stadium with oxygen before being rushed to hospital.
England’s manager Thomas Tuchel later confirmed that the 36-year-old had injured his wrist, describing it as ‘really bad’.
When asked about Henderson, he told the press: “Not good. Jordan fell over and injured his wrist. It looks really bad. It’s quite a serious injury.”
Meanwhile, his teammate Jude Bellingham told the BBC: “He’s in a bit of bother but our medical team have got everything under control probably. Best not to give too much detail when I don’t know too much what is going on.
"Everyone was there to support him and even that was a beautiful thing to see.”
It was later confirmed that the midfielder would remain in hospital while the team returned to base. A member of England’s medical staff will stay with Henderson.
Henderson was also booked during the match, despite being an unused substitute, receiving a yellow card for interfering with play from the sidelines.
In the latest update on Monday afternoon, Henderson looks set to miss the remainder of the World Cup.
England’s medical team said his wrist injury requires surgery to repair the damage.
England's next match is a quarter-final tie against Norway in Miami on Saturday at 10pm BST.
Henderson is likely to join Reece James, who had a hamstring injury in England’s opening match, on the sidelines, BBC Sport reports.
