A Ghanaian witch doctor has admitted they'll cast a curse onto England captain Harry Kane ahead of this evening's clash.

Ghana will take on the Three Lions at the Red Sox stadium in Boston tonight (23 Jun), a win for whom will ensure they'll qualify for the Group L knockouts with a game to spare - a pretty comfy position if you ask me.

If nationally-renowned shaman Nana Kwaku Bonsam has any influence on the match, however, it could see England wedged into a much tighter spot.

The witch doctor, whose name literally means 'Devil of Wednesday', has vowed he'll be targeting striker Kane, 32, who has already scored twice within their group's opening game.

"I am working on Harry Kane," Bonsam told the Daily Star. "I have shown what I am capable of before, so I know what work I must do to stop him."

"I am very famous for my predictions," he added. "I am not wishing him serious injury. It will be just enough to stop him against my country."

As it turns out, Bonsam isn't just bragging about his supernatural ability - he has the credentials to prove they're real.

During the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the spiritualist claimed he'd been responsible for an injury which forced Cristiano Ronaldo to exit the tournament much quicker than fans had expected.

The captain had battled knee problems during the lead-up to the game, having missed 12 games the season prior.

While Portugal would beat Ghana in the group stage either way, and Ronaldo securing himself a mesmerising goal, his team would suffer an inferior goal difference later down the line, which saw them kicked out of the competition.

"I know what Cristiano Ronaldo's injury is about, I'm working on him," Bonsam alleged at the time. "I am very serious about it.

"I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo seriously and rule him out of the World Cup or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana and the best thing I can do is to keep him out through injury."

He continued: "This injury can never be cured by any medic; they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual. Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is his thigh, next day it is something else."
