The long-awaited, full official trailer for the Aladdin remake just dropped, giving us even more of Will Smith as the beloved blue Genie.

Pulling on all the nostalgia from the original Disney movie, Mena Massoud makes his debut as Aladdin, joined by Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine. Viewers see the movie's iconic musical sequences, glimpses of Genie's wish-granting powers and magic carpet rides.

Other additions to the starry line-up include Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad as Dalia and finally Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders.

Just like the original 1992 movie we all know and love, this new reboot will follow the tale of Aladdin, who frees the Genie from a lamp and is granted three wishes. He falls in love with Princess Jasmine but their romance is threatened by evil Jafar.

The new adaptation has been directed by Guy Ritchie, joined by John August in the writing department.

Smith takes over the role of Genie from the late Robin Williams, who became synonymous with the animated character of which he voiced in the classic Disney movie.

A recently released, shorter preview of the reboot saw Will make his debut as Genie but was met with a mixed response from fans of the fairytale who felt underwhelmed by the 'lacklustre' costume. But it looks like Disney has taken this feedback on board as Will shines in his new role.

The flick, expected to hit cinemas on 24th May, sees the story transform from a children's animation into a live-action remake with real life actors rather than cartoon characters.

Film by film, the magical franchise is remaking our childhood classics into live-action films, with Lilo & Stitch, Lady and The Tramp, Mulan and Dumbo all being given the reboot treatment.

Needless to say, we will be the first in line at the cinema to watch this latest Disney remake.

Aladdin will hit UK cinemas on 24th May 2019.
