Snoop Dogg is being paid an eye watering amount of money at Paris Olympics

It's certainly not too shabby for 16 days of work

It was confirmed on New Year's Eve 2023 that Snoop Dogg would be enjoying a role as NBC's 'special correspondent' during the 2024 Paris Olympics - and he's being paid a handsome sum for his work.

The 'Gin and Juice' rapper has become a stand out part of the Games and has provided many viral moments.

He's been seen making eye-popping reactions on the sidelines of high-stakes sport artistic gymnastics, and donning full equestrian gear for dressage events alongside TV chef Martha Stewart, to name just a couple.

The 52-year-old star, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, has apparently had his Olympics paycheck scooped by New York-based venture capitalist and Forbes 30-Under-30 honoree, Henry L McNamara.

McNamara posted on X on 4 August: "Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner, he said Snoop gets paid $500k a day plus expenses to be here promoting Olympics. From Gin and Juice to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics - what a world."

I'm in the wrong job.

For context, Snoop first began his work at the Olympics during the opening ceremony on 26 July and has been booked to provide commentary for NBC up until the very end - 11 August.

By doing the maths, this suggests Snoop will be pocketing an eye-watering $8 million dollars for 16 days work.

While this may make you green with jealousy - many people took to social media to share that they are supportive of the sum.

One person simply wrote: "Worth every penny."

Another said: "Worth it! Snoop Dogg is rocking the @Olympics!"

While a third chimed: "My dream job."

Snoop carried the olympic torch during the opening ceremony - leading fans to joke that he better not 'Drop It Like It's Hot'.

And as for why he brought Martha Stewart along for the dressage - the reason is actually very cute.

83-year-old Stewart dished the dirt to Today, confessing: "Snoop called me, and he knows I love horses. He’s a little fearful of horses.”



And we'd be remiss not to mention his iconic private tour of The Louvre.

Wearing clothes that supported Team USA and in dark shades, Snoop addressed the camera: "You ever seen Night at the Museum?”

"Well, tonight you get to go in the museum with Snoop Dogg and we’re finna be snooping around", before taking a tour and marvelling at the Mona Lisa.

We have to concur with the general consensus on social media that it's been worth every penny.
