Serena Williams has given birth to her second daughter with husband Alexis Ohanian.

The former Wimbledon champion announced the exciting news on her TikTok channel.

In the short clip, which was shared earlier today (22 August), the sports icon is seen sitting at a table with Alexis, who is working on his laptop.

The couple are soon joined by their daughter, Olympia, before Serena appears to remember something, leaving the table.

The 41-year-old then returns, cradling the newest addition to their family in her arms.

The video was captioned: "Welcome my beautiful angel."

Following the announcement, fans of Serena flooded her comments with messages of support.

"Congratulations, Serena!" said one.

Another excited follower commented: "Congratulations. I hope you feel as wonderful as you look."

"This is beautiful," put a third.

While someone else added: "Congratulations to the GOAT on your new kid!"

In a post to his Twitter account, Alexis, who co-founded Reddit, revealed the name of their daughter.

Sharing some snaps of their growing family, he said: "Welcome, Adira River Ohanian.

"I'm grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama. Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you've now given me another incomparable gift — you're the GMOAT.

"Thanks to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter. I'll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister.

"Your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea."

Commenting on his post, one fan wrote: "CONGRATULATIONS!! Adira is absolutely precious, Olympia must be over the moon to have a little baby sister."

Serena and Alexis first met when they bumped into one another at a hotel in Rome back in May 2015.

And it wasn't long before they started seeing each other.

But while the tennis star has really taken to motherhood, it could have been very different.

Serena previously told Vogue that she wasn't sure if she would have children.

"Earlier in my career, I never thought about having kids," she told the outlet.

"There were times when I’ve wondered if I should ever bring kids into this world, with all its problems. I was never that confident or comfortable around babies or children."

However, she said her life changed once she had her first child.

She added: "The fact is that nothing is a sacrifice for me when it comes to Olympia.

"It all just makes sense."
