Serena Williams reveals she's pregnant with her second child at Met Gala

Tennis star Serena Williams has announced she’s pregnant with her second child, having broken the news at this year’s Met Gala.
The 2023 Met Gala invited celebs to pay tribute to late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away in 2019, with a theme of Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.
The annual event has become famous for the weird and wonderful interpretations on the theme, which this year have included Doja Cat and Jared Leto both rocking up dressed as a literal cats (a nod to Lagerfeld’s pet Choupette, obvs) and Dua Lipa wearing couture from Chanel - the fashion house Lagerfeld once served as creative director of.
But after tennis champ Serena Williams showed up, she had something much more exciting to talk about than what she was wearing.

Speaking to Vogue on the red carpet, she announced she is pregnant with her second child, using the star-studded event to debut her growing bump.
She said: “There’s three of us here.
“I’m good, I’m really good now. I can breathe, I can stop, I’m not hiding but… yeah.”
Williams wore Gucci – a monochromatic outfit with Art Deco-inspired detailing on the skirt, with multiple strings of pearls around her neck and a layered pearl headband.
Her husband Alexis Ohanian, meanwhile, donned a classic black tuxedo, also Gucci.
Singer Dua Lipa was one of the first big names to turn up, wearing archival Chanel - a piece originally worn by German supermodel Claudia Schiffer in the early 90s.
The white dress is made from Chanel’s signature tweed fabric, with a corset bodice, black trim and fringing at the hem.
Lipa accessorised her look with a statement Tiffany diamond necklace that has never been seen before in public.
According to Harper's Bazaar, the piece is the Lucida Star Necklace - worth more than $10 million.
The outlet explained it is 'reset with a diamond that mirrors the proportions of the world renown Tiffany Diamond, one of the largest yellow diamonds in the world', and features over 100 carats of 'brilliant cut white diamonds'.
Speaking to Vogue on the red carpet, Lipa said: "This dress is a very special dress. It's a 1992 Fall bride dress – Chanel, by Karl, of course.
"And it’s been on my moodboards forever. When the opportunity came I was just like, ‘Is there any way I can find this dress?’"
She said Chanel then allowed her to borrow it for tonight, adding: “It’s a big dream come true for me.”
Speaking about her necklace, Lipa went on: “This is a very special Tiffany necklace. It hasn’t been seen before so I feel excited to showcase it here today. They pulled it out the vault for me!”
