Royal family fans have picked up on a sweet moment between Prince George and his little sister Princess Charlotte at Wimbledon.

The two eldest children of Prince William and Kate Middleton, who are 11 and 10, watched the men’s singles final from the Royal Box, alongside their parents on Sunday (13 July).

The dramatic final day of the tournament saw Jannik Sinner triumph over last year’s champion, Carlos Alcaraz.

And the royal children were absolutely transfixed on the game as it unfolded, with George in particular watching along with a very stern look on his face.

It’s been widely reported that the little ones are fans of Wimbledon star Alcaraz, who lost the game in four sets, so were seemingly trying to hide their disappointment.

George’s hilarious reaction to the loss for his supposed favourite player has gone viral online, with some social media users even joking that he’d placed a bet on the Spanish tennis star.

And now, people can’t get over how alike the two eldest children of the Prince and Princess of Wales are.

Charlotte was seemingly mirroring her brother’s reaction as they both stood with an almost identical stance and sad look on their faces as the game ended.

She also seemed to touch her brother’s fingers to comfort him, which fans of course thought was adorable.

One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote: “Prince George and Princess Charlotte mirroring each other and trying to process that Carlos didn’t win is iconic.”

Meanwhile, a second added: “Both of them showing they’re learning to keep a game face on to stay neutral.”

“Even Prince George and Princess Charlotte are sad oh Alcaraz!!!,” joked a third.

A fourth person commented: “It seems as though Prince George does get the magnitude of it all…”

Meanwhile, others thought it was a good way to teach the royal kids how to keep a poker face and remain neutral in situations like this one.

Someone mused: “Very good move by Prince William to attend with the children - to teach them how to behave in public when your favourite player loses and decorum must still be maintained.”

And another social media user added: “These kids. George is so serious about the game. Probably thinking about how his guy could've won. Love them.”

Others chimed in with: “They are sooo stinking cute! I love that they’re a close, loving family!” and “Lovely she's touching his fingers”.

Charlotte and George’s love for tennis most likely comes from their mother Kate, who is known for being a huge fan of the sport.

Each year she makes the time in her busy calendar to watch the action from the Royal Box, and is usually always at Championship Weekend to see the dramatic men's and women's finals.

Kate is also a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which is a role she’s held for almost a decade.

It means she often gets the very important job of handing out the trophies to the winners and runners-up of the prestigious tournament.
