Prince George, Louis and Princess Charlotte have secret ‘bodyguard’ that works in disguise

The highly trained 'secret security' has been with them all their lives

Royal children are, of course, highly guarded and we'd expect them to have security with them 24 hours a day.

And as for the future King of England? It goes without saying.

The three young children of Prince William and Princess Kate have their own 'secret' security in the form of their nanny Maria Borrallo.

Borrallo was hired in 2014, when Prince George - the country's future King - was less than a year old, and she has stayed with the family ever since.

For Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, they have always had her in their lives to look after them, as well as keep them safe.

Borrallo is a graduate of the prestigious Norland College, which trains nannies for some of the wealthiest and most famous families as well as the royals.

Alongside their typical duties of looking after children and ensuring they are cared for, attending school and behaving, these nannies also double up as security for their young charges as they are said to be trained by former military intelligence officers on how to protect the families they work with.

Dr. Janet Rose, principal of Norland College, explained in a documentary focusing on royal children just how highly skilled the Norland nannies are.

In the TV documentary, one of the trainee Norland nannies is filmed as she explained: "We do skid pan driving to be able to handle your car in a situation where you have got your charge in the back and you have got to make sure it’s as safe as possible for the children."

Discussing the updates to their training, Dr. Rose said: "Some of the more recent editions to the programme, more cutting edge that fit more with the 21st century, include the security and cyber security training with our former military intelligence officers, for example.

"So some people have made jokes about it’s James Bond meets Mary Poppins, but of course, we are not trying to turn our graduates into bodyguards.

"But at the same time in many respects, we want our nannies to be as fun and loving as Mary Poppins was."

Whilst defensive driving, cyber security and fighting off potential threats might sound more like a movie plot than a job description, the life of a Norland nanny is otherwise pretty regular.

Louise Heren, author of Nanny in a Book, told the Mirror: "I've spoken to nannies who have worked with other royal families and life is pretty normal.

"You get up, have breakfast, you go to school and you wear your school uniform whether you like it or not. It would be quite like the average British school children."
