It's Princess Charlotte's 10th birthday today and, as per tradition, the Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a portrait of her to mark the occasion.

The snap was shared to the official Kensington Royal social media accounts earlier today (2 May), just a little over a week since the same was done for Charlotte's younger brother, Prince Louis, who turned seven last month (23 April).

The eldest of Kate Middleton and Prince William's three children, Prince George, is set to turn 12 later this summer (22 July).

After catching a glimpse of Charlotte's birthday post, it's clear it didn't take long for royal fans to all make the exact same unmistakable point.

Now, the photo in question shows Charlotte sitting down on during appears to be a hike in the countryside donning a camouflage jacket and a rucksack as she smiles head-on towards the camera.

Will and Kate captioned the snap which was actually taken by the mum-of-three: "Happy 10th Birthday Princess Charlotte!"

Fans of the royals immediately rushed to social media to share their reactions to the snap, with many pointing out that Charlotte is the spitting image of her father.

One penned: "The image of her dad. Happy birthday!"

"So like her dad happy birthday," a second chimed in while a third agreed: "Image of her daddy!"

A fourth stated: "She looks just like her dad!"

"She looks so much like William!" quipped a fifth while a sixth gushed: "Oh wow she looks like her dad now!"

Another beamed: "Happy 10th Birthday Princess Charlotte. Looking more like your daddy every day!"

And a final social media user added: "She has same smile of her father at 10 years old. His mini me forever!"

A similar familial comparison was made following the upload of Louis' birthday portrait - namely that the child looked exactly like Kate's father, Michael Middleton.

"Prince Louis looks like his grandpa Michael Middleton," wrote one X user.

A second chirped: "Happy Birthday, Prince Louis!!!! Middleton genes are on full display!!!"

"What a cutie," exclaimed a third, "he is Papa Middleton's little twin!"

Additionally, fans couldn't get over just how much little Louis had grown up since last seeing him with a fourth saying: "He’s suddenly all grown up. Happy birthday to Prince Louis!!"

"Wow, so grown up all of a sudden! Happy Birthday Louis," exclaimed another and a final X user added: "Wow! 7 y/o already!? Time flies!"

It sure does.
