Prince William had a direct response when he was asked about Meghan Markle's claims regarding the Royal Family.
The comment was made back in 2020 after Meghan and Prince Harry sat down with Oprah Winfrey where they spoke about their experience within the family.
The interview came after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took a step away from royal life, stepping down as senior royals and moving overseas to California.
During the chat, Harry and Meghan made a number of claims, including alleging that 'conversations' had taken place in the Royal Family which discussed Harry and Meghan's son, Archie, and 'how dark' his skin may be.

"In those months when I was pregnant [there were] concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he was born," said Meghan.

"That conversation, I am never going to share," Harry added. "At the time it was awkward, I was a bit shocked."
Meghan also claimed that Kate had 'made her cry' in the run up to her wedding to Harry, which at the time had been reported in the press as the Princess of Wales being the one left in tears over a disagreement about bridesmaid dresses.

"A few days before the wedding [Kate] was upset about the flower girl dresses and it made me cry," Meghan said, adding that Kate later apologised and brought her flowers.
"I'm not sharing that piece about Kate to be disparaging about her," she added.

During one point of the chat, Harry opened up about his relationship with the royals, explaining that he felt 'let down' by Charles, who allegedly stopped taking his calls after he and Meghan stepped back.

"I feel really let down because he's been through something similar, he knows what pain feels like and Archie's his grandson," he said.
"But at the same time, of course I will always love him but there's a lot of hurt that's happened and I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that relationship."

Following the interview, Prince William was asked by a reporter if the Royal Family 'were racist' while visiting a London school.

He responded: "We're very much not a racist family."
Buckingham Palace also issued a statement, 'on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen'.
It read: "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

"Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."
