Princess Eugenie’s newborn baby girl’s birth breaks same royal tradition Meghan Markle broke
The Royal Family is forever moving away from long-held traditions, and Princess Eugenie is the latest to break one.
The Princess welcomed her third child, a daughter, with her husband Jack Brooksbank, and the couple delightedly shared their exciting news on social media.
Proud mum Eugenie wrote: "Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie."
They are yet to reveal the little one's name, but their daughter's birth broke the same tradition that Meghan Markle broke back in 2021.

Princess Eugenie gave birth to her daughter over in Lisbon, the same way the Duchess of Sussex welcomed Princess Lilibet abroad, at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California.
Eugenie's baby was born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces, according to the official Royal Family social media account.
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is known for having her babies in the UK and appearing on the steps of the hospital just hours later to show the new arrival off to the press, the same way as it has always been done.
Princess Eugenie and Meghan have bucked the trend by having more private deliveries across the pond.
Another royal youngster, who is 53rd in line to the throne, was also born in the US in Los Angeles back in August 2013.
Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina Windsor is the daughter of Lord Frederick Windsor and an actress, Sophie Winkleman, and Maud is Prince Michael of Kent's granddaughter.
She used to go to the same school as Prince George and Princess Charlotte in London.
Following Princess Eugenie's happy news, one fan replied to the Royal Family social media account asking: "Congrats but why in Portugal?"
She previously had her two sons, August Philip Hawke, five, and Ernest George Ronnie, three, at the Portland Hospital in London.
According to PEOPLE magazine, Princess Eugenie and Jack have been dividing their time between Portugal and the UK since 2022, after Jack started a new job which required him to work there.
Back in 2023, she told the Table Manners podcast that living overseas is 'the dream' for the family.
“This is why Portugal is the dream because I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on my head and not mind. Not care. No one cares,” she said.
