Prince Harry could lose out on an important new role to his brother Prince William after their close friend welcomed a new family member last week.
For those not in the loop, the Duke and Duchess of Westminster welcomed their first child on Sunday (July 27) - a baby girl called Cosima Florence Grosvenor.
The billionaire landowner Hugh Grosvenor, 34, and his wife Olivia, 32, shared the exciting news with a public statement.
A spokesperson for the new parents said: “The Duke and Duchess of Westminster are thrilled to announce the birth of their baby daughter.

“Both the duchess and Cosima are doing well. The duke and duchess now look forward to spending this special time together as a family.”
The aristocrat is the godson of King Charles III and has been good pals with both Prince Harry and Prince William since childhood.
He’s so close with the royal family in fact, that he’s godfather to William’s son Prince George, as well as reportedly Harry’s eldest, Prince Archie.

The Prince of Wales was also given the role of usher at Grosvenor’s wedding to his wife Olivia Henson last year.
The couple tied the knot on June 7 2024 in a stunning ceremony at Chester Cathedral after meeting through friends two years prior.
Harry was invited but mutually agreed with the groom he would not attend amid his long-running rift with his brother, as per PA.
William and George also joined Grosvenor and his wife at Aston Villa's Champions League quarter-final against PSG back in April.

So now, as speculation is growing on who will be baby Cosima’s godfather, reports are emerging that it could be William due to his attendance at the wedding and closeness with Grosvenor.
Although, it’s important to note, none of this is confirmed and it may be that neither of the brothers will become godfather - we’ll just have to see what the duke decides!
Grosvenor, who was once considered one of the country’s most eligible bachelors, became an instant billionaire when he inherited his title and control of the historic Grosvenor Estate aged 25, following the death of his father from a heart attack in 2016.

His property company, Grosvenor Group, owns hundreds of acres of land in Mayfair and Belgravia, as well as major city centre developments such as Liverpool’s One shopping centre.
The duke boasts the title of the richest man in the UK under 40 and as well as his UK properties, his company has investments in more than 60 cities around the world, including part of Silicon Valley in California, US.
He’s also known for his actions in 2020, where he donated £12.5 million to the UK’s Covid-19 relief effort including funds for NHS Charities Together and for medical research and development.
