Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been defended by fans after bizarre trolls took aim at their seven-year-old son, Prince Archie, for wearing an England football shirt.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, took to Instagram on Sunday (21 June) to share a sweet Father’s Day post for her husband.
Meghan posted an adorable photo of Archie and his younger sister, Princess Lilibet, five, cuddling up to their dad, as the trio group-hugged.
She penned in the caption: “They’re so lucky to have you. We all are. Happy Father’s Day to our one and only.”

In the family snap, the young prince was wearing an England shirt, amid the ongoing World Cup, which some social media users apparently found an issue with.
For context, Harry and Meghan have lived across the pond in the United States for a little over six years, after they relocated to California in early 2020, after stepping back from their duties as senior working members of the British royal family.
Because Archie was born in May 2019, he’s spent pretty much his entire childhood in America - something that trolls believe means he can’t support England.

One X user cruelly wrote: “So Archie, American-raised, only been to England for the shortest time, is now an England football supporter. Oh please. Guess you got to keep those titles at any cost.”
While a second question: “Why is Archie wearing an England jersey when his father said he doesn’t like England very much?”
And a third wrote: “That kid had no connection to England, haha,” to which someone else rightfully responded: “I know this may shock you....but....Archie is the son of an English prince.”
Others also jumped in to defend the royal, writing: “Archie is cute with his lil team England tee” and “The negative comments are beyond pathetic.. shame on all of you.”
While someone else commented, “Archie also wearing England T-shirt supporting the English team. Won’t be surprised if Harry attends one of the games.”
It comes as Harry and Meghan are expected to visit the UK next month to attend celebrations marking the one-year countdown to Harry’s Invictus Games in Birmingham.
Speculation mounted that the King could be reunited with the prince and princess after Harry and Meghan were offered royal accommodation for their upcoming UK visit, reports PA Media.
It’s been four whole years since Archie and Lilibet last saw Charles, their grandfather, in person during the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
It also comes after Harry met the King last September for the first time in 19 months.
