Meghan Markle's MasterChef Australia debut unexpectedly interrupted by husband Prince Harry

The Duchess of Sussex's first appearance as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia was arguably overshadowed by a surprise visitor.
Meghan Markle's cameo was announced earlier this year, with the episode filmed while she and Prince Harry were visiting Melbourne on a four-day trip to Australia back in April.
"We’re welcoming someone SUPER special into the MasterChef Kitchen," the show's official Instagram account wrote at the time. "Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, makes a special guest appearance this season as she returns to Australia for the first time since 2018.
"Joining a star-studded lineup of Guest Judges and culinary icons, Meghan helps guide some of the most impressive home cooks the competition has ever seen. This is the series of MasterChef you don’t want to miss."

She and Harry ventured Down Under in a private capacity for charity and financial causes, having resigned from their royal responsibilities six years ago.
During the episode, which aired last night (26 Jul), contestants were challenged by the esteemed panel of judges - Jean-Christophe Novelli, Poh Ling Yeow and Sofia Levin - to whip up a dish 'fit for a duchess' using a handful of simple, staple ingredients.
After the former Suits actress was introduced to the group, she immediately but part-takers at ease by advising them, 'call me Meghan'.
As we say, however, the attention Meghan received from producers during her debut appearance was subsequently shared when her very own husband, Prince Harry, dialled in for a video call.
The British royal claimed he'd wanted to check in with his wife, whom he married in 2018, after which Meghan greeted him by gushing, 'Hi, my love'.
She then introduced Harry to the contestants, telling them, 'My husband's here!', to which the Prince jokingly asked: "What’s going on? Have I interrupted something important?"
Meghan then told him: "Well, we are actually in the middle of tasting all the dishes. We have four incredible cooks here. It’s amazing, they’re so talented. We wish you were here."
She then informed onlookers, 'He’s in Canberra right now with the veterans', before turning her attention back to Harry.
"I wish you could try this," she continued. "These dishes are fantastic. "It’s really delicious, and there’s a hot sauce that, well, you know me … it is so good.
"I think it might be too much for you. It’s spicy."
After Harry praised the group for their hard work, telling them, 'Very sorry to disturb you', the mother-of-two hung up the call, branding him a 'charmer'.
Also during the episode, 44-year-old Meghan was asked to describe her favourite dish to make for her family - husband, Harry, seven-year-old son, Archie, and daughter Lilibet, five - to which she claimed it was a 'tough one because I have a lot of palates to appease'.
She added, however, that while Harry, 41, prefers 'meat, potatoes and cream sauce', she's a lover of grilled fish.
Meghan also claimed her two young children are already 'great eaters', adding that they often assist with meal prep.
"We're really lucky on that front," she gushed.
