It's the transatlantic union we all knew one day would come - the Princess of Wales will come face to face with America's First Lady for the very first time.
And by the sounds of it, social media spectators can't wait for their insight into the likely bizarre get-together.
For those in need of a reminder, Melania Trump landed in the UK for her second ever state visit yesterday (16 September), joined by her husband, United States President Donald Trump.
The couple first landed on British soil as America's leaders in 2019, when they were graciously hosted by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

After landing in Air Force One, the Trumps were first met by the US ambassador to the UK, Warren Stephens, before the Viscount Hood (the Lord-in-Waiting) greeted them on behalf of King Charles III.
Trump and Melania were later transported to Windsor Castle ahead of their union with the British monarch today, as well as Queen Camilla. Also joining the party is the future king, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton - also known as the Prince and Princess of Wales.

What is the plan for today?
Trump, 79, and wife Melania, 55, will first be met by the Wales' today (September 17), who'll formally accompany them to the King and Queen.

Later, the group of six will travel in a carriage procession through the Windsor estate, which will be lined with members of the British military, to the castle. The Republican leader will then be invited to inspect the guard of honour.
A state lunch will then be held, after which Charles and Camilla will invite Trump and Melania to view a number of US-related items from the Royal Collection. In the afternoon, the President will visit the tomb of the late Queen at St George's Chapel, where he is expected to lay a wreath in her honour.
The evening will then see the group joined by British Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer - as well as a number of military families - to enjoy a musical performance by the chapel choir, before a Beating Retreat ceremony on the lawn, which will include a flypast from the UK and US F-35 military jets and the Red Arrows.
Lastly, the King will deliver speeches during a state banquet.

What will Kate and Melania do together?
During the Trumps' stay in the UK, the First Lady will also be lucky enough to spend some one-on-one time with Kate Middleton.
According to Vanity Fair, the leading ladies plan to divert from the schedule on Thursday to visit Frogmore Gardens together.

There, they'll be joined by UK Scoutmaster Dwayne Fields, as well as members of the Scouts' Squirrels program, in which the Princess was involved as a child, and of which she now serves as co-President.

Why is their union so special?
This week's high-profile get-together has set tongues wagging for a number of reasons.

Firstly, the trip will make history in that it sees Trump becoming the first political leader to be invited by the British monarchy for two state visits, having already travelled over in 2019.
It isn't just the political or monarchical importance of the occasion that has roused quite the stir, however. In fact, given that both Kate and Melania have both received praise across the board for their keen eye for fashion, a number of onlookers seemingly can't wait for official photos of their meet-up to be released.
After all, on a number of occasions in the past, the pair have seemingly taken inspiration from a number of one another's styles.
Who else remembers when Melania donned a powder blue dress and matching bolero for her husband's 2017 inauguration, only to be 'copied' by a similar Alexander McQueen look styled by Kate five years later (as cited by National World)?

Or the suave Alessandra Rich black and white polka dot that the Princess wore to the 2022 memorial service for the Duke Of Edinburgh at Westminster Abbey, which mirrored one previously worn by the First Lady to mark National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month in the East Room of the White House in 2020.
Taking to social media, one fan of the big-name duo gushed: "Okay, the sheer amount of elegance and fashion in one room is going to be a global event. I am seated and ready for these pictures. This is a legendary pairing."
Another continued: "All I care about is Melania and Princess Kate’s drip…".
"I’m expecting some devastatingly fabulous style from Melania and Kate this week," a third went on.
