Prince Harry recalled the moment that Meghan Markle made an awkward joke at a key royal event - but it apparently didn't go down too well with Kate Middleton.
It's well known that the relationship between the formerly known 'Fab Four' is strained.
Between Meghan and Prince Harry stepping down as senior royals in 2020, and the documentaries, books, and interviews that followed - it seems there's a bit of making up to do.

Meghan has admitted to knowing very little about the royal family's protocols before becoming the Duchess of Sussex.
So when it came to key events like the Trooping of the Colour, it's no surprise that nerves lent themselves to humour.

According to Prince Harry's memoir Spare, released in 2023, Meghan made an awkward joke at the event that didn't go down well with her brand-new sister-in-law.

Meghan's first Trooping the Colour appearance in 2018 came shortly after the pair's honeymoon.
Recalling the moment, Prince Harry wrote: "Kate asked Meg what she thought of her first Trooping the Colour. And Meg joked: Colourful."
But it seems the awkward joke didn't really land.
Prince Harry described 'a yawning silence that threatened to swallow us all whole'.

The pair had been married for just three weeks, and Prince Harry could be seen checking in on his new wife the entire day.
Hello! reports that, according to a lip reader, he turned to her and asked: "OK?" To which, she replied: "Yeah, are you?"
They made another appearance at the Trooping the next year, as well as being invited back in 2022, to celebrate alongside the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations - just months prior to her death.

Prince William commented on the relationship with his family while visiting the Army Air Corps in Wattisham, Suffolk, earlier this week.
He described family in general as a 'mixed bag', which some have suggested was said in reference to his relationship with his younger brother.
The royal said: "Some of them might not want to see you that much. It's a mixed bag sometimes."
Speaking on their relationship more specifically in 2019, in a TV interview with ABC, Prince Harry said: "Inevitably stuff happens. But we're brothers, we'll always be brothers."

He added: "We're on different paths at the moment, but I will always be there for him, and he'll always be there for me.
"We don't see each other as much as we used to, because we're so busy."
But it seems the sentiment might have changed slightly in more recent times.
