An insider reportedly dismissed rumours Prince Harry and Meghan Markle intended to apologise to Prince William and Princess Catherine, branded the speculation as ‘nonsense’.
The denial, reported by PEOPLE comes after widely published reports the pair were seeking to address comments Meghan made on the Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021, about the remarks of a senior royal in relation to her earlier pregnancy.
The year before the interview was held, Harry and Meghan were no longer working royals and moved to California.
The supposed apology was claimed to have been part of a broad strategy to reconcile with Prince William and Catherine, who have become estranged from the Sussexes in recent years.

Public and media interest in the couple has only increased since their return to the UK, with children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, having been settled into a local school close to their new home in the Cotswolds.
It is understood King Charles has not yet seen Harry, Meghan or his grandchildren since they moved back to Britain – but rumour has it there will be a Christmas reunion if not before.
The last reported meet-up with the King was a lunch on July 10 at Highgrove, when the Sussexes visited the UK over the summer holiday period.
However, any visit between the Sussexes and the Wales’ are unlikely. The brothers have reportedly not spoken since Queen Elizabeth’s death in 2022.

In response to the apology speculation the source close to the Sussexes told PEOPLE the rumours were ‘nonsense.’
The reported apology was supposed to be in response to comments Meghan made to Winfrey that a member of the royal family had made comments that could have been interpreted as racist.
She said there were ‘concerns and conversations’ about how dark Archie’s skin may have been once he was born. Queen Elizabeth famously issued the statement ‘recollections may vary’ two days after the broadcast.
William was asked by a journalist, “Are you a racist family?” to which he replied, “We are very much not a racist family.”

Harry sought to distance himself from the saga in his memoir Spare, later pointing to the way the incident had been portrayed by the media.
In a BBC interview held in May last year, Harry outlined how he wished to reconcile with his father and the wider royal family.
He said: “Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things.
“But, you know … I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”
A source close to Harry and Meghan previously told People there had been “no movement, especially on William’s side” regarding a thawing of relations.
