Royal Family fans think they’ve spotted Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son Archie’s real title in an official document - and they’ve been left baffled.
The confusion comes just after the Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to share a heartwarming montage of their little family to celebrate Father’s Day.
Alongside a series of sweet clips of Harry with Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, over the years, Meghan wrote: “The best. Happy Father’s Day to our favorite guy”.
As usual, any post of Meghan’s sparks an interest in the family, and most recently, fans have been obsessing over their different monikers and titles.
And the confusion around their kids' names comes after people learned that Prince Harry’s name isn’t actually Harry - yes, you read that right.
The Royal Family's website has left some people confused when it comes to Archie's official title (Instagram/meghan) It was revealed on Archie’s birth certificate that the Duke of Sussex’s birth name is ‘His Royal Highness Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex'.
And if you think you’re confused, even Harry himself hasn't a clue why his parents gave him a different moniker.
Speaking previously with a child named Henry at the WellChild Awards, he told the youngster - as per Entertainment Tonight: "My name is Henry as well. But everyone calls me Harry."
He went on to admit: "I have no idea why."
And now, in the latest confusion around royal names, a social media user has highlighted that on an official document, Archie’s name is listed as ‘Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’.
Bewildered, they asked: “Soooo Archie’s no longer a Prince?”
However, others made sure to clarify that on the official Royal Family's website, he is in fact listed as ‘Prince Archie of Sussex,’ so the document must be outdated.
To explain, the eldest of the Sussex youngsters was born on 6 May 2019.
To explain - Harry and Meghan's children got their titles once their grandfather King Charles ascended to the throne in 2022 (Instagram/meghan) The infant was given the full name and surname 'Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor' at the time, with titles having been handed to himself and his sister Lilibet before their grandfather King Charles ascended to the throne in 2022.
Archie and Lilibet were moved up in the line of succession following the coronation, and the little ones were bestowed with the new titles of Prince and Princess of Sussex.
Prior to this, they were always officially Master Archie and Miss Lilibet.
In simpler terms, Archie and Lilibet were not prince and princess at birth, because they were not grandchildren of the monarch.
But, they gained their right to these titles when King Charles ascended to the throne.
A spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan said at the time: "The children's titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch.
The titles changed when Charles ascended to the throne (Instagram/@meghan) "This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace."
One Royal Family fan pointed out how it can get confusing, especially when things like official documents and websites aren’t updated.
They wrote: “They also have a page where the kids have not got their titles, as it was written before the Queen's death. It gets so confusing where they don't update things that often.”
Someone else explained: “It's been like this for years. When he's mentioned in other places on the site, his prince title is used. It's nothing more than they didn't update the title of the link/pic to click on.”
