King Charles leaves people seriously confused with unexpected announcement after cryptic Bob Marley post

The King announced a new project for Commonwealth Day

A series of social media posts by the Royal Family have left people scratching their heads.

Yesterday evening (6 March), the Royal Family's official Instagram account posted a rather cryptic reel titled: "Coming soon."

The short video starts with the band for the changing of the guard outside playing Bob Marley's 'Could You Be Loved' outside the palace.

Viewers are then transported around the royal residence before the video ends with King Charles sitting at a desk with a sign on it reading 'on air.'

Instagram users were understandably confused by the mysterious post, with many guessing what the upcoming announcement could be.

One person wrote: "What will it be? I can't wait!!!"

Another suggested: "A royal podcast?"

"We got a podcast from The King of England before GTA 6," a third joked.

Meanwhile, a fourth sniped: "Trying to be Meghan now?"

Luckily for those confused by the brief trailer (i.e. everyone), we didn't have to wait too long before finding out what it all meant, with the Royals announcing King Charles' new project in another Instagram post this morning, just nine hours after the teaser.

The King is launching a personal playlist of music that brings him joy and brings back important memories.

The King's Music Room - named after the room he was christened in as a baby in 1948 - will be a one-off radio show broadcast on Apple Music, featuring the music of Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones and Bob Marley.

There are also expected to be contributions from Nigerian-American singer-songwriter Davido and British singer-songwriter Raye.

Announcing the project, Charles said: "So this is what I particularly wanted to share - songs which have brought me joy.

"Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also the case for so many others.

"It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories, to comfort us in times of sadness, and to take us to distant places.

"But perhaps, above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree, and all the more so when it brings us together in celebration. In other words, it brings us joy."

The King's Music Room will reflect his varied music taste from 1930s crooners to Afrobeat stars. He is also expected to share anecdotes about some of the artists and why their songs mean so much to him.

It will be broadcast on Apple Music 1 on Monday (10 March) to mark Commonwealth Day.
