Brits have been left baffled after looking at a newly released image of the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children.

In the photo, which was shared yesterday, the proud parents can be seen wearing white shirts and beaming into the camera while the future King rests a hand on the shoulder of five-year-old Prince Louis.

Kate has her arm around the waist of 10-year-old Prince George, and Princess Charlotte is sat front and centre on a chair.

The sweet black and white snap, which was taken by Yorkshire photographer Josh Shinner, was shared on X with the caption: “Our family Christmas card for 2023.”

The post has been flooded with compliments by fans, with one person posting: “What a wonderful picture! The children are growing so fast!”

Another wrote: “In this simple and beautiful pic I can see a couple who cherish and love deeply their children and family.

“A couple who put the respect, loyalty, family and duties above of everything.”

However, some people have been left confused after looking at little Louis’s hand and claiming it looks like the youngster is missing a finger.

Commenting on X, one person said: "Is Prince Louis missing a finger? What in the AI is going on."

A second said: “I’m not a fan of this photo, look at Louis and his left hand, what is going on with that, it looks Photoshopped.”

While someone else wrote: “Louis is missing a finger, this has got to be the worst photoshopped pic ever.”

Earlier this year, Kate let slip the adorable nickname she uses for her youngest when they took took part in the Big Help Out at 3rd Upton Scouts Hut in Slough.

In footage from the day, Kate and a scout member can be seen helping Louis prepare a S’more – a sandwich made from a melted marshmallow between biscuits – which he wasted no time eating.

The mum-of-three affectionately called her youngest child 'Lou-Bugs' as she told him to put his wooden stick used to toast a marshmallow into the fire. How cute is that?

Louis definitely enjoyed his snack as he licked the marshmallow off his fingers while eating the delicious s’more.

Prince William then made a joke about his son’s apparent sweet tooth. He told the crowd: “You won’t hear a peep out of him now,” as everyone chuckled.
