Following the coronation of King Charles III, royalists may wonder what Princess Kate’s title will be when her husband William becomes King.

When Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away peacefully in her residence at Balmoral last September, it meant that her son Charles ascended to the throne at the age of 73.

And after Saturday's (6 May) coronation, the royal crown was placed upon King Charles III's head.

The King and newly appointed Queen said they were 'deeply touched' by the nation’s celebration of their historic event, according to a Palace spokesperson.

“Their Majesties were deeply touched by the events of yesterday and profoundly grateful both to all those who helped to make it such a glorious occasion - and to the very many who turned out to show their support in such numbers in London and further afield,” they said.

Prince William and the Princess of Wales surprised fans with a walkabout in Windsor.

However, some fans of the royals might already be thinking about 'what happens next?'.

The Duke of Cambridge - Prince William - is next in line for the throne, but would that mean Princess Kate's new royal title would be 'Queen'?

Not quite.

When Queen Elizabeth II passed away, it was announced that Camilla would go by the title of Queen Consort. This was to differentiate Camilla from the late Queen in the months following her death.

However, the Royal Family have since officially updated Camilla's title to Her Majesty The Queen, or Queen Camilla.

The news of Camilla's title change first broke when Buckingham Palace unveiled their official coronation day invitation, which invited guests to the 'Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla'.

Since then, the official Royal Family website has updated Camilla's page with the title and the new Queen was also anointed at the coronation.

Following the title change, many have been wondering if the same will happen for Princess Kate.
