Donald Trump has raised concern after suddenly leaving the G7 summit early and issuing a seriously ominous warning about Iran.

Israel appeared to be expanding its air campaign on Tehran - the capital of Iran which is also one of the largest cities in the Middle East, with around 10 million people - five days after its surprise attack on Iran’s military and nuclear programme as Trump posted his warning.

According to Israel, its assault on Iran’s top military leaders and nuclear scientists is necessary to prevent Iran, its longtime adversary, from getting any closer to building an atomic weapon.

Since Friday (13 June), the strikes have killed at least 224 people, per AP News.

The outlet reports that Iran has since retaliated by launching more than 370 missiles and hundreds of drones at Israel, killing 24 people and leaving more than 500 wounded.

Amidst this, the 79-year-old Republican took to his own social media platform, Truth Social, on Monday (16 June) to issue a warning that Iran needed to sign a new nuclear agreement deal.

Trump has been calling on the nation to sign a nuclear deal with the group of world powers known as the P5+1 - which includes the likes of the US, UK, Germany, France, China, and Russia, all of which have been in negotiation with Iran in regards to its nuclear programme since 2006.

In the post, Trump warned Iran: "Iran should have signed the 'deal' I told them to sign.

"What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON."

Trump concluded the post: "I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!"

Additionally, in a move which has seemingly raised more concern, the convicted felon also left the G7 meeting a day early and is set to return to DC, with French President Emmanuel Macron claiming that he had done so in order to help encourage a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

Trump, however, clearly took issue with such a comment and flocked to social media to make yet another post on the matter, namely saying that the reason he left the summit early was 'much bigger' than being down to a ceasefire.

Just a few hours following his initial warning message, he penned: "Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron, of France, mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit, in Canada, to go back to D.C. to work on a 'cease fire' between Israel and Iran.

"Wrong! He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that. Whether purposely or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong. Stay Tuned!"

His posts have raised immense concern online with one person writing: "Why did the President of the United States - the most powerful man in the world - send out a social media post at 3am in Iran telling 10 million people to flee #Tehran?"

Another declared: "This isn’t just a scheduling change. It’s a flashing red siren.

"With tensions between Israel and Iran nearing a boiling point, this sudden move signals one thing: The United States may be on the verge of entering the conflict."

They added: "Forget diplomacy. War posture is setting in. This may be the most dangerous 24 hours of Trump’s presidency and possibly the world’s."
