Donald Trump has been accused of photoshopping an image of himself and King Charles III.

Trump met up with the 76-year-old British monarch last month (17 September) for a historic two-day trip in the UK, which marked the second time he's made a state visit to the country, with the last time being in 2019, when the late Queen Elizabeth II was on the throne.

Trump, who was joined by First Lady Melania, had quite the busy itinerary during the visit as the couple met up with multiple members of the Royal Family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as sitting down for a white tie banquet along with 160 guests in St George’s Hall, where he even got to deliver a speech.

He also posed alongside Charles for a picture to commemorate the visit in photos posted 17 September - something which has sparked a slew of AI and photoshopping allegations.

The now-viral photo in question was uploaded to the official POTUS and White House Instagram accounts in a joint post along with the caption: "President Donald J. Trump and His Majesty King Charles III."

The caption rounded off with three emojis: the American flag, a handshake and the United Kingdom flag.

After catching light of the snap, which saw the 79-year-old Republican leader grinning with an extremely noticeable set of pearly whites, people rushed to social media to share their confusion and speculation that the image was tampered with.

One Instagram user hit out: "Whoever did the teeth whitening editing needs to be fired."

"The Facetune teeth whitening was a massive fail. You’re fired!" quipped a second, while a third chimed in: "What is going on with his teeth?"

A fourth echoed: "Why did they edit his teeth?"

"Why do you edit like this?" questioned a fifth, while a sixth piped up: "What the hell is this picture?? Halloween come early? Jesus."

Another lamented: "Why Trump be lookin like that?"

And a final Instagram user speculated: "AI?"

And that's not the only thing people were baffled by as many were stunned to find out that Trump is actually older than Charles, a whole three years to be precise, despite the latter being the oldest monarch to ever ascend to the British throne.

Responding to the news, one social media spectator noted: "Hard to believe that Trump is actually older than King Charles."

"King Charles III looks like a much older man standing beside Trump. However, he’s actually two years younger than Trump," another wrote on X.

A third went on to say: "Wow, Trump is 4 years older than Charles. Charles looks like he could be Trump's father, age-wise."

"Unbelievably Trump is two years older than King Charles," another continued.
