Prince William’s subtle behaviour next to King Charles sparks sad theory

The Royal Family attended the funeral of the Duchess of Kent on Tuesday (16 September)

A clip of the Royal Family has sparked speculation after people spotted a 'subtle behaviour' from Prince William.

King Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton gathered for the funeral of the Duchess of Kent at Westminster Cathedral on Tuesday (16 September).

Buckingham Palace announced that the duchess 'passed away peacefully' on 4 September at her Kensington Palace home 'surrounded by her family'.

However, many people thought that William's behaviour at the service suggested that things were frosty between him and his dad.

Prince Andrew also attended the funeral in a rare public appearance, even exchanging some brief words with the Prince of Wales.

William is now first in line to the throne to take over from King Charles, and it has previously been reported that he is feeling a 'great deal' of anxiety about the prospect of stepping into that role.

A video of the royals at the funeral was shared on Reddit, with people taking to the comments to share their observations.

More than one person noted that William seemed to be clenching his jaw very tightly, which could be a sign of stress.

"William's clenched jaw lol," wrote one, while another posted: "Clench that jaw any tighter and you are gonna break a tooth William!"

Another highlighted how William appeared isolated from the group, writing: "It looks like William gets along with exactly nobody in that crowd."

As Charles turns away from speaking to Cardinal Vincent Nichols, who led the service, towards William, the pair barely seem to acknowledge each other as the King steps to greet Kate and Williams greets the cardinal.

Kate then greets Charles and drops into a small curtsy, with the whole exchange lasting barely a few seconds.

One person remarked how her expression appeared to change the moment the interaction ended.

"William acts like Charles isn't there and Kate's face falls as soon as she finishes greeting Charles," they wrote.

The funeral of the Duchess of Kent was a historic moment for the British Royal Family.

This was because later in life the Duchess converted to Catholicism, and the service at Westminster Cathedral was a Requiem Mass - a Catholic ceremony.

In fact, the funeral was the first time that senior members of the Royal Family have attended a Catholic funeral in modern history.

However, Queen Camilla was not among them, as she was recovering from an illness.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: "With great regret, Her Majesty the Queen has withdrawn from attendance at this afternoon's requiem mass for the Duchess of Kent as she is recovering from acute sinusitis."

Tyla has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.
