United States Vice President JD Vance has sparked major outrage online after sharing a 'revolting' post amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.

Social media users have hit out over the 40-year-old Republican's 'terribly-timed' tweet, given what's going on in the Middle East right now.

For context, tensions between the US and Iran have now surged to the highest point in decades after Iran launched a missile attack on United States airbases in Qatar yesterday (23 June), following President Donald Trump's orders of direct strikes that he said 'obliterated' the three key nuclear facilities - Natanz, Isfahan and Fordo - across the Middle Eastern country.

The week prior, Iran was subjected to an unprecedented missile attack from Israel, who accused Iran of developing nuclear weapons, sparking the two to become locked in a back-and-forth strike exchange.

Israel's claims have not been backed by any credible proof, but Trump nonetheless dragged the US into the war following the Israeli strikes

And, in one of the latest updates, Trump this morning (24 June), took to Truth Social, to issue a warning to Israel after announcing a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

During all of these major global news updates, Vance took it upon himself to share a post on his 'exciting' experience as Vice President, and it's left people furious.

The post in question, which was uploaded to X earlier this afternoon (24 June) reads: "I wonder if other VPs had as much excitement as I do [cry laughing emoji]."

After catching light of the tweet, which comes amid fears of an impending WW3, many rushed to social media to share their reactions.

One X user penned: "Tweet by our VP [drowning emoji]."

"Excited about what seriously?" questioned a second, while a third echoed: "Excitement about what?"

A fourth hit out: "Excitement when people are dying?"

"Eh hello you're dealing with people's lives," pointed out a fifth while a sixth chimed in: "And, why are you excited?!"

A seventh wrote: "There's a war going on people are dying and this d*ckhead is finding excitement in it."

"Revolting statement," slammed another, and a final X user added: "Terrible timing with this post."

On Sunday (22 June), Vance claimed that the US was not at war with Iran, but at war with its nuclear program,

"We're not at war with Iran. We're at war with Iran's nuclear program," Vance said in an interview on NBC's Meet the Press with Kristen Welker show.

"I think that we have really pushed their program back by a very long time. I think that it's going to be many, many years before the Iranians are going to be able to develop a nuclear weapon."
