Italian PM Giorgia Meloni’s fuming reaction at Trump sparks same observation

Footage of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni speaking to Donald Trump at the G7 summit has gone viral after viewers noticed the same thing about her reaction.

The US President attended the high-profile meeting in Évian-les-Bains, France, where world leaders gathered to discuss major international issues, including the war in Ukraine, Russia, and the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

Trump’s arrival at the summit had already been the subject of discussion at said summit, after Meloni was already seen discussing the fact he was late to one of the meetings.

As shared in one of the clips across X (formerly Twitter), Meloni is seen standing with other officials before asking: "We are optimistic he will come?"

A French official then replies: "He will come, he said he will come"

Meloni then adds: "He’s 45... So he’s 45 minutes late."

Eventually, Trump did turn up. Not long afterwards, though, another clip showed Meloni standing face-to-face with Trump as she appeared to address him directly.

The footage does not clearly capture what was being said between the pair, but Meloni could be seen speaking animatedly while repeatedly gesturing with her hand — leading many to assume he was getting a telling off for keeping everyone waiting for so long.

It didn’t take long before the moment began spreading across social media, with people making the same observation about Meloni’s no-nonsense approach.

One user on X noted: “She's so expressive! It's amazing. Also, Trump's body language is completely off.. none of the usual bravado and overconfidence. He looks like a totally defeated man!”

Another added: “Meloni’s body language says it all. She’s giving it to Donald with one hand in her pocket.”

Many viewers suggested the Italian PM looked completely unafraid to make her point, while others joked that Trump appeared unusually quiet during the exchange; that’s especially noteworthy, since the US President has rarely been left speechless.

This is especially the case as Trump also faced scrutiny over several interactions at the G7 summit.

Earlier footage from the meeting room, as noted by the Express, appeared to show him speaking to world leaders about a UFC event held at the White House to mark his birthday.

While some leaders were seen smiling and listening, Meloni appeared less engaged in the conversation.

She reportedly ‘appeared to scowl and look away’ as Trump spoke, while French President Emmanuel Macron was among those said to have listened along.

The summit also saw Trump meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with discussions focusing on the ongoing war and security in Europe.

Speaking afterwards about Ukraine, Trump said: "The whole thing is ridiculous. So, yeah, I’m going to do whatever I can."
