It seems Elon Musk has taken a massive U-turn on his comments around Donald Trump, having tweeted to say he 'regrets' some of the posts he shared.
The pair turned on one another in recent weeks after Musk stepped down from his role heading up the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for the President.
"As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending," Musk posted as he announced his departure from the White House.

"The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government."
But while the separation seemed amicable at first, it didn't take long for things to sour.
Musk started to make a number of pointed remarks about Trump's financial policies, criticising his 'big beautiful bill' that he'd previously backed.
"I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not just decreases it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing," he told CBS last week.

"I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful, but I don't know if it can be both. My personal opinion."

Musk later said the 'massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill' was a 'disgusting abomination', to which Trump responded: "Look, you know, I've always liked Elon, and it's always very surprised you saw the words he had for me, the words and he hasn't said anything about me."
He added: "But I'm very disappointed, because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here."

This back and forth continued for some time, before Musk decided to land a more personal bombshell about his new rival.
"Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files," he said. "That is the real reason they have not been made public.
"Have a nice day, DJT!"
While it is already known that Trump was named in the Epstein files - documents, videos, and investigative materials related to Jeffrey Epstein's heinous crimes - no allegations have been made about his involvement in the crimes and his inclusion does not imply wrongdoing.

But now, it would appear Musk fears he may have taken things a little 'too far', taking to X to go back on comments made during their very public spat.
"I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week," he said.
"They went too far."

He did not specify which of the posts he was referring to.
Trump continued to ignore the claims from Musk, instead turning our attention back to that bill.
"I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago," he ranted on Truth Social.
"This is one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress. It’s a Record Cut in Expenses, $1.6 Trillion Dollars, and the Biggest Tax Cut ever given.
"If this Bill doesn’t pass, there will be a 68% Tax Increase, and things far worse than that. I didn’t create this mess, I’m just here to FIX IT.
"This puts our Country on a Path of Greatness. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
