It’s no secret that the American President is partial to a game of golf every now and then, with him owning several of his own courses around the world, located from Scotland to Palm Beach and everywhere in between.

But, do you know how much time he actually spends on the course as opposed to in the Oval Office?

The astonishing percentage of Trump’s presidency so far that he’s spent golfing has allegedly been revealed - and while some are ‘disgusted’, others are not convinced by the stats.

The data has been pulled together by a website called didtrumpgolftoday.com, that dedicates itself to tracking when the world leader is playing.

Also reported by the MailOnline, since his second term began in January, Trump has allegedly spent almost a quarter of his days on the course.

He’s said to have golfed 37 days out of 157 days since returning to office, which equates to 23.6 percent of his presidency spent golfing.

The figure is reportedly based on the average price per round calculated from the cost per trip, identified within the Government Accountability Office's 2019 Report on the cost of four golf trips taken by Trump in his first Presidency.

The report crunched the numbers on the four trips Trump took to his Palm Beach, Florida golf course Mar-a-Lago during his first term.

It put the total cost at $13.6 million, which works out at around $3.4m a pop.

The website that tracks Trump’s golfing habits has since claimed that the cost to taxpayers for his time enjoying the sport since returning to office is $51,800,000.

In the comments on an Instagram post about the story, users angrily quipped: “America first except 25 percent of the time” and: “Disgusted!!!”

Others added: “And the wars rage on…”

“He should be paying for his own security when playing golf- RIDICULOUS!,” penned someone else.

However, not everyone is buying the astronomical figures, and others have defended the President, insisting that he’s allowed to have some down time.

One baffled Instagram user questioned: “How the hell would it have costed him 50 million to golf?”

And others chimed in with: “He has also done more in 100 days than any other President,” and: “He gets more done in a day than the democrats in 4 years”.

Someone else angrily added: “So he is playing golf one or twice a week since the beginning of the year??? That’s a crime now???? And where the heck did they get 50 million dollars from?? This is all cap and nonsense really.”

Other fans of Trump assured that they’re all good with his golfing habits, as he’s ‘doing a good job’.

Someone wrote: “I’m fine with it! He’s doing a great job,” with a second adding: “At least he’s dedicated to doing something 6-7 hours everyday unlike most people who say their gonna go workout or do something then quit after a day or two.”

And another social media user questioned: “Really? 24 hours in a day - he spends 8 hours a day golfing? Explain your math- we all know he works more hours than most.”

When contacted by Tyla for comment, White House Spokesperson Davis Ingle said: "President Trump is the most active and engaged president in history and never stops working for the American people. In less than 6 months, the president has already secured major trade deals, brokered historic peace agreements, secured the border, and set the American economy free to boom like never before.”
