The feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump has been going on for weeks now, and is showing no signs of stopping.

If anything, the huge break-up level fallout has reached new levels of petty, with reporters asking the US president whether he plans to speak to his new arch nemesis on the phone.

But first, for those who aren’t up to speed, Musk previously supported the US President's controversial campaigns and even accepted a job headind the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) - but now, they have turned on each other.

Accusations and insults have been flying around left, right and centre after the tech billionaire stood down from his role in the White House and returned to his electric-vehicle endeavour, Tesla.

Following his resignation, the tech mogul began publicly criticising the President’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill,’ branding it as a 'disgusting abomination', after noting that it will increase the 'already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion'.

Musk also made a pretty huge accusation 5 June, writing on X: "Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files.

"That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!"

While Trump didn't address the accusation, he wrote on Truth Social about the 'truth' of Musk’s departure: "Elon was 'wearing thin', I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!"

These are just some examples of the non-stop bickering that’s been going on between the US President and world’s richest man. If you want the full lowdown, you can read it here.

And now, in true ‘break-up’ fashion, Trump is doing what we’ve all done at some point in our lives - acting like we don’t care.

In a clip shared by ABC News of a recent press conference, a reporter asked Trump: “What about Elon Musk. Do you plan to speak to him on the phone any time soon?”

Nonchalant as ever, he paused for a moment before saying: “Uhh, I haven’t really thought about it actually. I would imagine he wants to speak to me. I would think so.”

He then shrugged: “I would think that if I were him I would want to speak to me and maybe he’s already called, you’ll have to ask him.

“Ask him whether or not he’s already called. But I’d have no problem with it.”

In the comments of the clip on TikTok, people are finding humour in the latest update of the Trump v Musk argument.

One user wrote: “And they won’t vote a woman in because they’re ‘too emotional’”.

While others joked: “He’s literally talking like they broke up and he’s sad” and “No contact is crazy”.

A fourth quipped: “Cmon, no contact after a breakup is healthy.”

And another commenter wrote: “Who needs to talk on the phone when you can just angry tweet at each other?”
