Donald Trump has been slammed by the Governor of California after a video emerged of farm workers being detained at a Ventura County agricultural business on Thursday (10 July).
Democrat Gavin Newsom made his feelings clear in a brutal tweet aimed at the United States President, amid his crackdown on illegal immigrants in the US.
ICE (United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement) has been conducting raids nearly every single day since Trump took back control of the White House in January, and hundreds of thousands of immigrants have been deported since.
A new video, originally shared by KTLA 5, seemingly showed protesters running from tear gas after a crowd of demonstrators formed at the raid.

The news channel reported that dozens of farmworkers were detained at around 11am at Glass House in Camarillo, California.
Posting to Twitter, Newsom spoke out about the incident and called the US President ‘scum’.
He wrote: “Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields. Trump calls me 'Newscum' - but he’s the real scum.”

However, social media users have pointed out a major concern that’s come from the video - Glass House Farms are a cannabis company and there appear to be children in the clips.
The company has a permit to grow cannabis in Ventura county, and as of last year, they used half of the space for cannabis and the other half for tomatoes and cucumbers, according to the Ventura County Star.
Questioning the presence of children, one X user wrote: “Why are there children working on a weed farm Gavin?”
A second also questioned: “Care to explain why children were present at a grow operation?”

A third added: “Do children normally work in weed fields in California?” as another questioned: “What are kids doing in a marijuana grow field?”
Another chimed in with: “Bro, that’s a weed farm. What are children doing working at a weed farm?”
Videos and photos that are circulating online show demonstrators were gathered on a road located between two fields where uniformed officers stood opposite them.

One clip showed white and green smoke filling the air and protestors running away, while agents wore camouflage gear, helmets and gas masks.
The raid came during a simultaneous operation at Glass House’s second location in Carpinteria which is located about 50 miles northwest in Santa Barbara County.

Another image shared by KTLA showed people sitting against a wall with their hands bound in front of them. It’s unclear whether they are workers or protestors.

Luis McArthur, the mayor of the nearby city Oxnard, issued a statement on the events on social media.
He wrote: "It is becoming increasingly apparent that the actions taken by ICE are bold and aggressive, demonstrating insensitivity towards the direct impact on our community,"
"These actions are causing unnecessary distress and harm. I remain committed to working alongside our Attorney General and the Governor’s office to explore potential legal avenues to address these activities."
