Donald Trump has raised eyebrows by claiming that Iran called Barack Obama a ‘stupid son of a b***h’ over a deal he made with the country more than 10 years ago.
The US President, 80, compared the previous Democratic President’s 2015 settlement to his own deal to end the US-Iran war, which, as per the BBC, is set to be signed on Friday (19 June).
For those who need a reminder, America and Israel attacked Iran on 28 February, starting a months-long war that had knock-on effects around the world.
The outlet reports that Trump’s deal is expected to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in return for the US lifting its blockade on Iranian shipping, but important questions are still unanswered, such as what it will say about Iran’s nuclear programme.

There’s no doubt that the Republican leader’s deal will be compared to Obama’s, which persuaded Iran to delay any nuclear enrichment activities for at least 10 years, before Trump withdrew America from the agreement in 2018.
During a bilateral meeting at the G7 summit in Évian, France, on Wednesday (17 June), Trump made the bold claim that Obama ‘tried to bribe’ Iran.
He said, “He gave him $1.7 billion in cash, green cash from banks, into a Boeing 757 and flew it into Iran,”
Adding: “He tried to bribe his way out. I didn’t do that. Nobody mentions that. $1.7 billion and hundreds of millions of dollars.
“They tried to bribe their way out of it. And you know what the Iranians did? They laughed at Obama, and they said he’s a stupid son of a b***h.”
Reacting to the explicit comment, one X user wrote: “The way he speaks about Obama transcends politics. Seems like he personally dislike the man.”
While a second agreed: “I’m a 3x Trump voter, but I have to call him out here. Totally unnecessary comment and will help NOTHING.”

And a third raged: “Trump, this is highly unprofessional coming from a world leader. Using vulgar words like "son of a b***h" to describe a former President at an international summit is uncalled for.
“A leader should speak with grace & diplomacy, not repeat gutter language to sound big.”
Others agreed: “Trump needs to learn how to talk respectfully for ex-presidents,” and “He’s obsessed with Obama.”
Speaking to Good Morning America about Trump’s new agreement with Iran, Obama said: “It is doubtful that any agreement that arises is going to be significantly different, or in a significant improvement from the deal that we had in the first place, and had worked for a long stretch of time before we, the United States, pulled out of it.”
Tyla has contacted a representative for Obama and the White House for comment.
