Barron Trump’s conversation with Ivanka Trump during Donald Trump’s record-breaking State of the Union speech has been decoded by a lip reader.
The 20-year-old (19 at the time) attended the address alongside First Lady Melania Trump and his half-siblings, including Ivanka, Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, and Tiffany Trump.
The appearance drew attention as Barron has largely remained out of the public spotlight, despite growing online interest in the youngest of Donald’s five children.
Back in late February, the president’s speech also made headlines in its own right, after CNN tracked it at one hour, 47 minutes and 46 seconds, making it the longest State of the Union address on record since at least 1964.

However, as Donald spoke to Congress, attention also turned to a brief exchange between Barron and Ivanka in the gallery.

Lip reader Jeremy Freeman has now claimed he was able to decode part of the conversation.
According to Freeman reported by The Mirror, Ivanka appeared to ask Barron: "What are you doing on...?"
Still, he was unable to make out the final word, meaning the wider context of the question remains unclear.
Barron is then alleged to have replied: "I'm not sure, I couldn't be a***d."
The comment had since opened up the potential for widespread discussion, with there being lots of room for speculation as to what Ivanka may have been asking him.
Barron’s attendance marked one of his more high-profile public outings since his father returned to the White House.
He previously appeared at Donald’s inauguration, where his height and composed demeanour also attracted attention across social media.
Despite being part of one of the most recognisable families in US politics, Barron has not taken on the same public role as some of his older siblings.
Ivanka, 44, served as a senior adviser during Donald’s first administration, while Donald Jr and Eric have both been prominent political figures within their father’s movement.
Barron, who is Donald’s only child with Melania, has instead kept a relatively private profile while studying at New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Be that as it may, he has also been credited with having some influence behind the scenes.
Time journalist Eric Cortellessa previously reported that Donald asked campaign adviser Alex Bruesewitz whether he had discussed a proposed podcast list with Barron.
In a post-2024 US election write-up at Time (recently noted by boredpanda), Donald is said to have asked, according to Cortellessa: "Have you talked this over with Barron?"
The president reportedly added: "Call Barron and see what he thinks and let me know."
Body language expert Judi James also commented on Barron and Ivanka’s dynamic at the address.
She told the Daily Mail: "Barron and Ivanka seemed to have formed a new sibling power couple, sitting side by side, with Barron looking watchful and serious while Ivanka chatted to him until they were engaged together in some ongoing conversation."
It remains unknown what Ivanka’s full question to Barron was.
