Dream job alert!

Remember we told you last week that Canine Cottages were looking for dogs and their humans to review properties around the UK?

Well, now we have some even better news for animal lovers.

Hotels.com has just launched a new search for a team of Creature Critics and this time they're after pets of all kinds, and the hotels are all over the world.

EEK!

Whether it's an adorable pup, bad-ass bunny, cute cat or anything in between, the new Creature Critics will be responsible for reviewing pet-friendly hotels around the world, with the winning critics bagging 10 free nights at pet friendly hotels of their choosing.

Last year's winner, the sassy kween chihuahua Dolly Pawton, is on the judging panel, so it's important that your pets are prepped to impress. All applicants just have to meet three criteria - they must have a taste for the #HotelLife, have bags of personality to keep up with the Kween and (most importantly) can fit in a hotel room.

According to new research by Hotels.com, this news is just what we needed, as it found over a third (37%) of UK pet owners have increased feelings of stress about being separated from their pets post-Covid, resulting in searches for pet-friendly hotels increasing by 300% in the last year.

The research also revealed that nearly half (41%) of Brits have taken their pet on holiday instead of leaving them behind. Fear of missing them too much (45%), being a flirting wingman/women (10%) and paranoia that the pet will get FOMO (9%) are just some of the reasons why people have opted for a creature companion on holiday.

Also, a fifth (19%) of owners fessed up that they thought pets were less stressful to travel with than people - we can agree on that.

Emma Tagg, Senior Global Brand Communications Manager, Hotels.com brand says, "With lockdown making us clingier than ever, it's no surprise that no-one wants to leave their pet pal behind. At Hotels.com we want to make sure each pet-friendly hotel is up to scratch, which is why we launched the Pet Friendly category within our Loved By Guests awards.

"But the reality is we can't review all the hotels ourselves, and honestly - what do us humans know? We're ready for a red hot team of Creature Critics to take the lead, so pet owners, and pets, can rest assured that the hotels have been reviewed by the best."

There will be three winners picked at random, who will receive 10 Hotels.com coupons each, to live their best pet-friendly hotel Life.

The competition is open from 30th September - 9th October, so be quick!
