Gabby Petito's friends have opened up about the impact of her death and the autopsy results in a candid interview.
On Tuesday the results of the 22-year-old's autopsy revealed she died by strangulation. Gabby and her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, were on a road trip across the US before she vanished in August.
Gabby’s disappearance and the announcement of her death led to people across the world to share tributes.
Now, her friends have revealed how the news of her death and the devastating confirmation of how her life ended has affected them in an interview with People.

“It makes me sick to my stomach,” said friend Alyssa Chen. “I wonder what was going through her mind, knowing she was probably about to die. She must have been so scared.”
Gabby's friends are also expressing their anger towards Brian for vanishing in the middle of the police investigation into the murder.
Friend Ben Matula said: "If Brian strangled her, I hope he burns in hell. That’s all I have to say.”
Alyssa added: “Whoever did this, whether it’s Brian or someone else, needs to pay for what they did. She didn’t deserve to die that way.”
At the press briefing announcing the cause of death, Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue said: "In the manner of death we find the cause and manner to be cause death by strangulation and manner is homicide."

The news comes after human remains that were discovered in a remote area of Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming were confirmed to be Gabby's.
Preliminary findings had discovered that the cause of Gabby’s death was “homicide.”
Gabby was reported missing by her parents on September 11th, after they had failed to hear from her since late August.
Brian did not disclose Gabby's whereabouts when he returned from the trip alone and went missing himself just days after his return.

He is considered a person of interest in the investigation and police are still searching for his whereabouts.
The case has attracted attention worldwide; Gabby’s status as a YouTuber and an influencer, regularly documenting her trips across America, has seen followers try and ascertain Gabby's movements before she died.
