Man called Jeffrey Epstein forced to clarify who he actually is

When convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein was arrested back in 2019, a man with the same name was hit with a barrage of hate

A man called Jeffrey Epstein has been forced to clarify that he's not that Jeffrey Epstein.

Yes, really - as far as unfortunate names go, this could arguably be one of the worst.

As we say, this man has clearly caused confusion so much that he's had to issue a lengthy Instagram statement, making it clear that he's not the Jeffrey Epstein that's been making the headlines.

Back in July, the former Disney publicist who has the same name as the criminal financier started getting tagged in social media posts mistaking him for the infamous paedophile.

And now, as the horrific case is back in the limelight, it looks like it's all happening again - despite the other Epstein having been dead for six years.

He took to Instagram yesterday (10 December) to reintroduce himself to his new followers and once again dispel any confusion.

He penned: "I’ve had some new followers lately, so thought I’d reintroduce myself… Hi, I’m Jeffrey. I’m not *that* Jeffrey Epstein, as hopefully anyone who clicks 'follow' is keen enough to see."

The publicist added: "I lead Strategic Communications for the West Coast at @42west working on corporate, entertainment and crisis PR.

"Before that I worked for 15 years at Disney in Corporate Communications and D23. I am on the board of @outfest, which supports LGBTQ+ film & filmmakers. I am on the NextGen board of @mptf (@mptfnextgen), which aids those in the entertainment industry during times of need."

He then signed off with: "I’m a former editor at Us Weekly, Out, and Soap Opera Digest. I’m *still* not that Jeffrey Epstein. Welcome!"

He even had to add a line into his bio for anyone who doesn't see the grid post, writing: "Not THAT Jeffrey Epstein".

This isn't the first time this has happened and shortly after the criminal Epstein’s July 8 arrest in 2019, the non-famous Epstein was inundated with tags and messages.

The Hollywood Reporter said that one message read: "Your money can’t protect you from the fact that you’re an abusive child trafficker and rapist."

Allegedly, at one point his Twitter account was even tagged by a news outlet in a story about the other Epstein’s arrest.

Friends were forced to rush to his defence, with actress Yvette Nicole Brown writing on social media: "General PSA: My friend has the same name as the monster arrested today, but he is not THAT #JeffreyEpstein yet his feed is in shambles. My bud, Jeffrey is a lovely guy who works for Disney. Nicest guy EVER."

While comedian and actress Kathy Griffin added: "The reactions you get from people must be everything from terrifying to priceless.”

The other Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting sex-trafficking charges.

His name is making headlines again as all files relating to his criminal case are set to be released by the US Justice Department before 19 December.

It comes just after the US House Oversight Committee kicked things off by released 20,000 pages of documents last month.

The new files are said to include flight logs from Epstein’s private jets, emails, estate records, court documents, internal Department of Justice communications, and information about his death in prison.
