Ever since conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on 10 September, his supporters have shared the various ways in which they're paying tribute to him.
Many have decided to jump on one particular trend following a Starbucks controversy, which saw a customer share a video trying to order Kirk's favourite beverage, a Mint Majesty tea with two honeys, and asking for his name to be written on the cup.
The customer was refused such a request, with the barista explaining they 'can’t do political names', and offering to write just 'Charlie' on the cup instead.
Starbucks was forced to come forward to address the ordeal, assuring in a lengthy statement: "When a customer wants to use a different name - including the name Charlie Kirk - when ordering their drink in our café, we aim to respect their preference."

Many have since took it upon themselves to try the trend out for themselves, including one Starbucks customer who ordered Kirk's drink of choice who was left shocked after seeing what message was written on their cup.

Taking to Facebook yesterday (22 September), the customer shared a snap of the three-word message the barista allegedly wrote on their cup, which read 'racists fav drink'.
Critics of Kirk say he held racist, Islamophobic and misogynistic positions in life.

Such individuals have pointed to Kirk's belief that the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which ended racial segregation, was a mistake as it led to a 'permanent DEI-type bureaucracy,' referring to diversity, equity and inclusion.
They have also referred to Kirk's denial that systemic racism exists, his promotion of the Great Replacement theory, his use of Christian nationalist language, calling white privilege a 'racist idea' and his criticism of critical race theory when making such claims.
The customer captioned the post: "The girl at Starbucks thought she was cute. I don’t even support Starbucks bc of everything they stand for starting with their satanic logo, but I support Charlie Kirk so I thought you know what…I’ll get his drink.
"Thank you Starbucks for proving to me exactly why I prefer to support my small local Christian owned and operated coffee shop. Well done.

"This was at the Starbucks inside of Kroger on Towne Blvd in Middletown OH."
In a follow-up comment, the Facebook user added: "I want everyone to know that I just received a phone call from a manager for Kroger and the employee was terminated this morning.
"Between last night and this morning I have had several Kroger employees reach out to me and they took this very seriously. As a long time customer of this particular Kroger location I am pleased with the way they quickly reacted and responded. Thank you Kroger for doing what was right. I appreciate you just as you have shown that you appreciate me."

In a comment to Fox News Digital, a spokesperson for Starbucks shared in a statement: "Writing this on a cup is unacceptable, and we have clear policies that prohibit negative messages to help preserve a welcoming environment.
"This Starbucks location is licensed and operated by Kroger. We understand that this associate was terminated by Kroger."
Kroger later confirmed the firing in an email on Monday (22 September) to Fox News Digital with a representative saying: "This behaviour does not reflect Kroger’s values."
The customer in question told the outlet: "I would agree that people should be fired if they’re doing something like this."

She added that 'actions have repercussions'.
She went on to claim that Kirk 'stood for respect', before stating: "We don’t have to agree on everything. We can disagree on a lot of things, but we respect each other.
"We can’t communicate and grow if we’re disrespecting each other."
Following the situation, she also declared: "I don’t intend to spend another penny at Starbucks - and as far as I’m concerned, neither will my children or anybody else in my family who will listen to me."
