Woman who has over 230 great-great-grandchildren meets great-great-great-grandchild for first time

Woman who has over 230 great-great-grandchildren meets great-great-great-grandchild for first time

That's a lot of greats

An incredible photo shows a woman who has over 230 great-great-grandchildren as she meets her great-great-great-grandchild for first time.

Now that's a lot of greats.

Cordelia Mae Hawkins, better known as MaeDell, has held a lot of babies in the past, having had 13 of her own with her first husband.

According to People, the 98-year-old was just 16 when she met her 50-year-old husband-to-be. As well as having more than a dozen kids, she also became the stepmother to his 10 children.

And their family continued to grow, with granddaughter Gracie Howell telling the outlet that the next baby born will be number 622.

Six generations under one roof.

The heartwarming photo shared by the family on Facebook is significant in that Hawkins is holding her first biological 6th generation child.

As family members gather round Hawkins' bed at her nursing home in Kentucky, the proud great-great-great grandmother holds seven-week-old Zhavia Whitaker with a proud smile on her face.

Howell shared the snap alongside the caption: "SIX (living) Generations. MaeDell, Frances, Gracie, Jacqueline, Jaisline, and Zhavia."

Speaking with People, the 58-year-old said: "We thought this was special because it's all girls."

Though Hawkins is going to turn 99 in July, Howell said she's still 'smart as a tack' and unsurprisingly very capable when it comes to raising kids.

At one moment during the visit when the baby 'got a little fussy', Hawkins 'swooped her right out of mama's arms'.

"We have a picture of her actually tickling her little feet," she added. "Sweet moments."

Howell opened up about her grandma's life, saying that while she didn't have much, she was always positive and put her focus into raising her family.

"She had no modern conveniences, no washer dryer, no dishwasher, no running water," she said.

"I mean, I can remember I was a teenager and she still didn't have running water.

"I know she had it hard, but she didn't complain. She just went about her day."

Though she has 'outlived her husbands' and many of her stepchildren, the 98-year-old has plenty of relatives to keep her company.

Howell concluded: "She's had a full life. I just love her."

Dozens of people have commented on the incredible moment, with one writing: "What a wonderful, precious photo for your family!"

"Such a moment in time and memories to last forever," said another, while a third added, "Great, very rare to see six generations."

Yep, that's definitely one for the photo album.
