Victoria's Secret’s latest fashion show has led to social media exploding with praise, but there are those who pointed out something very disheartening.
Jasmine Tookes was just one of the many beautiful women to take the stage yesterday (15 October) during the fashion show in New York. The supermodel, 34, walked her walk, showing off her baby bump after having announced her second pregnancy with husband Juan David Borrero in July.
At nine months gestation, she’s almost ready to pop, but that isn’t stopping her from rocking up and stealing the moment.
Tookes was dressed up, dripping in ornaments, along with her gold wings. She went on to cradle her stomach as she reached the end of the runway, and the crowd went wild for her ornate clam get-up.

She had revealed the exciting news after sharing photos from a maternity photoshoot on Instagram, posting in all white.
"Another little soul to love @juandavidborrero" she captioned the images.
Speaking with Vogue, she shared that she is having a boy, telling the outlet: "I’m a big planner. Having another baby was something that my husband and I always wanted to do. It was just a matter of timing and when it made sense—when we both weren't traveling as much."

The couple also share Mia Victoria, who was born in February 2023.
Having seen Tookes and her bump, fans at home were all talking about how this is one of the best things they have seen in a long time.
One person on X said it’s a big moment for our social culture and how we view pregnant women, writing: “Culture is shifting. Victoria’s Secret fashion show opens with pregnant supermodel, Jasmine Tookes, humanizing motherhood and unborn babies. Children are blessings, not burdens.”
A user wrote: “My fav part of the #VSFashionShow was by far OG Jasmine Tookes opening up, full baby bump… I’m still GAGGED!! This is legendary for so many reasons! #BlackWomenInFashion.”

Another praised: “I love that they did this. So sweet!”
Someone else gushed: “i hope i look this stunned when i get pregnant.. i feel like my back would hurt so much tho.”
However, some realised that the first time seeing a pregnant woman’s body celebrated was during an underwear fashion show, and saying this fact alone makes it clear that we still have a long way to go.
They wrote: “Ok, interesting. I’m glad to see the celebration of the female body as it’s making another life……just wish it wasn’t on a VS stage lol.”
As for Tookes, this was a big moment for her.

She celebrated her memorable runway moment as soon as she left the stage, and posted a selfie to Instagram, writing: “Omg what just happened.”
She also shared a video to her TikTok account, which she captioned: “Can’t believe I just opened the show 9 months pregnant.”
Here’s to many more moments like this to come.
