Kylie Jenner breaks her silence on walking Victoria’s Secret show as debut sparks backlash
Kylie Jenner has spoken out about the iconic moment she stepped out wearing the Fantasy Bra during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show over the weekend.
The 29-year-old reality TV star officially gained her wings on Sunday (18 October) when she made a surprise appearance at the Los Angeles event and walked the runway for the fashion brand for the first time in the most sought-after garment.
With this year’s design worth an eye-watering $50 million, the Fantasy Bra is usually reserved for veteran VS Angels, with previous wearers including Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks.
So, the reaction was mixed when Jenner stepped out sporting the glitzy garment, making for the most talked-about moment.

In a new vlog posted to her YouTube channel on Monday (19 October), the Kardashian sister filmed herself chatting in the car before the show.
She told her 12.3 million subscribers: “We just glammed up and got to the Victoria’s Secret rehearsal. It is Friday. I just can’t believe I’m doing this. I don’t know if I knew what I was getting myself into. I’m like, ‘What?!’”
She affirmed: “I know that I can do it, and I’ve been talking to some of the other girls, and they’re also freaking out. So at least I’m not alone.
“VS asked me to do this so long ago, months ago, and time just moves so fast, and I didn’t really know how to say no, like, this is so special.”
Jenner gushed: “I grew up watching the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows, and of course, how could anyone say no? I feel grateful that I’m able to experience it. I wanna look back on life and be like ‘I did that’.
Jenner then took her camera backstage at the glamorous event, filming as she rehearsed and perfected her look.
One very sweet moment in the vlog saw Jenner’s kids, Stormi, eight, and Aire, four, waving and grinning at their mum as they watched her strut her stuff during rehearsal.
While, as we say, some people weren’t impressed with Victoria's Secret’s choice, the comments on Jenner’s video were filled with nothing but praise.
One fan gushed: “Kylie becoming a VS Angel is one of the coolest things to happen this year.”
While a second added: “This vlog truly put an end to all the haters that were saying she bought her way into wearing the fantasy bra. VS asked her to this and she did amazing!!”
A third gushed: “I honestly LOVED seeing her in the VS fashion show. Bless her heart during all this backlash of her wearing *THE BRA*. It was beautiful, and she was absolutely gorgeous! VS literally asked her to walk and asked her to wear the bra - how could she say no!! You could tell she was so nervous in what people would think or say. I'm excited she was able to have this moment for her. I am all for our inner child healing!”
And a fourth agreed: “Kylie is undoubtedly a sex symbol to this generation and a media icon….love her or hate her, it makes complete sense to have her wear the Fantasy Bra! People forget that this is a fashion SHOW and it still ultimately has to generate revenue and media buzz. She looked and walked the part, and gave the Fantasy Bra a huge reintroduction back into the show.”
