Mounjaro user reveals 'shocking' NSFW side effect of weight loss drug - she has no regrets

People taking weight loss drugs have reported a number of changes to their sex life

A Mounjaro user has opened up about how taking the weight loss drug has changed her life in the bedroom - for better and for worse.

By now, we've all heard about the slew of side effects that come along with taking GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro, Wegovy and Ozempic, with the latter only being approved for treating type 2 diabetes.

These include the most common gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and constipation, as well as other reported knock-on effects like hair loss and the likes of 'Ozempic vulva' and 'Ozempic teeth'.

And some people taking the weekly injectables have even spoken up about NSFW side effects such as sex drive and orgasm changes.

While some Mounjaro users say their sex drive has increased, others have been shedding the pounds but struggling to enjoy their time in the bedroom.

One Reddit user took to a Mounjaro thread to ask for advice after noticing a dramatic change in her sex life.

Writing on the social media platform, she asked: "Has any woman experienced a change in their type of orgasm? Before Mounjaro I never managed to feel pleasure during sex intercourse and I was feeling pleasure only externally via clitoris.

"Now it's been three months on MJ and lost 11kg being on 2.5 mg. I can't orgasm anymore via clitoris, but I have started feeling pleasure vaginally.

"I thought that would have never been possible before? I am so positively shocked."

She continued: "It can't be due to the weight loss as when I was even thinner than now I never experienced vaginal orgasm at all. It has for sure to do with the impact MJ has on my hormones.

"Also, I have always suffered with PCOS and very distanced periods. With MJ I have become way more regular. I think I should communicate this to Elly Lilly somehow to investigate how this medication may help not only people affected by diabetes."

And it looks like she's not the only one as others have also rushed to the replies to compare their own experiences.

One person quipped: "I’m not sure about type of orgasm for me but my sex drive etc is very high with my dramatically improved health!"

A second penned: "My sex drive disappeared. It could be perimenopause or that my partner has increasingly distanced themselves as I lose more weight. But, my urge to initiate has dissipated."

Meanwhile, a third guessed: "I'd wager a guess that your PCOS improving has lowered your testosterone levels, which MAY impact clitoral sensitivity. Improved glucose control improves blood flow for genitalia. That MAY explain your vaginal experience."

Essentially, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition that affects the ovaries and can cause hormonal imbalances.

According to ASDA Online Doctor, research into tirzepatide - the drug name for Mounjaro - has shown that it could help treat and manage some PCOS symptoms, including insulin resistance and obesity.

While it's not specifically licensed or approved to treat this condition, a number of women have said the drug has helped with their symptoms

A spokesperson for Eli Lilly said: "Mounjaro (tirzepatide) should only be used when prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional, and prescriptions should be fulfilled and supplied by registered pharmacies or providers. We encourage patients to consult their doctor or other healthcare professional to discuss any possible side effects they may be experiencing and to ensure that they are getting genuine Lilly medicine."
