Baba Vanga 'rival' had eerily accurate predictions for the future that came true

Edgar Cayce was dubbed the 'sleeping prophet'

Since her passing in 1996, Bulgarian 'psychic' Baba Vanga has remained renowned across the globe for her scarily-accurate predictions about the future of our world.

Much like her philosophical predecessor Nostradamus - another alleged mystic who passed away in 1566 - Baba left her followers with a complete list of premonitions about what is in store for the human race for the next few thousand years, many of which have already proven scarily accurate.

So much so, that Soviet leaders reportedly even sought her counsel following the world wars of the 20th century.

She previously predicted that large cities around the world would be hit by large-scale droughts and water shortages, and in 2022, the UK suffered the driest July since 1935.

And back in 1989, she is even said to have foresaw the 9/11 terrorist attack.

It's pretty safe to say, therefore, that for believers in the other-worldly, she's deemed as a reliable source of information.

But what many don't realise, however, is that Baba Vanga is often compared to another self-professed clairvoyant who himself boasted countless correct predictions during his lifetime.

We are, of course, talking about Edgar Cayce, a 19-20th century Kentucky-born soothsayer that is often dubbed the 'Sleeping Prophet' after he claimed to speak from his 'higher self' while in a trance-like state.

As the story surrounding his rumoured gifts goes, as a young school boy, Edgar fell asleep on a school textbook, discovering when he awoke that he'd retained all the information inside it via some kind of psychic osmosis.

In the years that followed, he developed quite the reputation for his unusual style of predicting the future while appearing asleep, and many of his premonitions about real world events have since gone down in history for being startlingly accurate, with a total of 14,306 readings still available for his modern-day followers to read.

Six months prior to the infamous Wall Street Crash of 1929, the mystic had reportedly issued a warning regarding a 'great disturbance in financial circles', and in the years that followed, he predicted the shock passings of US presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy.

Among his other eerie estimations was that he was said to have had a vision of the devastating Second World War, as well as the formation of the Axis powers, predicting at the time that 'Austrians, Germans and later the Japanese' would be 'joining in their influence'.

So, whilst he doesn't have premonitions categorised for each year after his death, much like the apparently efficient-minded mystic Baba Vanga, if his previously accurate guesses are anything to go by, it seems there could be more in store for us...
