Sad truth behind woman who has live streamed every second of her life for three years and counting

The streamer has broadcasted every hour of her life for over three years

A woman who has live-streamed every moment of the day for over three years has revealed a sad truth about her online life.

The 28-year-old 'marathon streamer' lives, eats, and breathes every minute of her day on live video - including while she sleeps.

She uses the streaming platform Twitch to go about her online life, but there are no regulations on site which tell creators when to start, and most importantly, stop recording.

The strategy with streaming tends to be the more you share, the more successful you can be. But 24/7 creator Emily has taken things to the next level.

She is currently on day 1,137 of broadcasting every hour of her life, and subscribers can pay to tune in for just $5.99 every month.

However, Twitch tend to take a 30-to-40 percent cut of all profits made.

Her subscribers peaked last year, when she hit 22,000, but have since dropped to 6,000 - so it's estimated that the internet sensation makes roughly $5,000 a month.

While she might be earning decent money, Emily has revealed the dark side of being a 24/7 creator.

She worries that taking a break from her stream would be 'career suicide', given she's known for her 'marathon' content.

For three years, she has taken zero sick days, gone on no holidays, declined every invitation to a family event or wedding, and has had no sex.

Emily revealed that the job can be extremely isolating, and often feels too depressed to stream.

She has also faced mean trolling from subscribers, calling her 'too chunky'.

The 28-year-old once posted saying: "Feeling burnout, dead inside, waking up at [2 p.m.] everyday. The cycle continues. Do big streamers ever have normal friends?"

But she also noted that streaming has been a good distraction from dealing with her real life problems.

Speaking to The Washington Post, the creator added: "If I was always live, I didn’t have to think about things."

Other viewers find real comfort in her video streams, as one said: "A lot of people are just trying to escape their reality, and the fact that she’s always there is comforting.

"If you wanted a distraction over the last 1,100 days, you had one."

Emily hopes to buy a house and get married by the age of 30, but the last date she was able to go on was seven years ago.

It seems finding a partner who is happy to have their life live-streamed every moment of the day is quite the challenge.
