Woman demands mum 'cut off' her giant tattoo because she 'copied it from her'

Evie told her Facebook friend she should cut the tattoo off with a 'scalpel', but it turns out that the tattoo wasn't unique to either...

A woman has demanded that a mother cut off her large chest tattoo with 'a scalpel' because she allegedly 'copied it' from her.

Charley Buckham, 23, was accused of stealing the design after she posted a picture of herself with the tattoo on display.

The tattoo design wasn't original to either of the women.

The mum explained that she got the chest tattoo in 2019 after an artist posted the pattern online.

But after she posted a picture of it on display, one of her Facebook friends, an acquaintance, Evie, messaged her a barrage of abuse on August 13.

The beautician was described as an 'unoriginal copycat' and 'fat heifer' and accused of ruining Evie's tattoo.

While Evie claimed the tattoo was an 'original design', Charley soon discovered that the artist first shared the design back in 2015 - a year before Evie had it tattooed by someone else.

However, Evie has insisted that it's Charley who is in the wrong because she didn't copy the design but an actual tattoo that was already on someone else's body.

Charley, meanwhile, said she 'doesn't care' that they have the same tattoo.

The mum, from Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, said: "At first I didn't realise who it was because when I saw the tattoo I didn't really look at the name.

"So I was like 'who is this and what tattoo is she talking about?' and then she sent [me] the photo.

"I was just shocked because obviously I've had her on Facebook for so long, I didn't understand why she was messaging [me] now."

Charley said that 'absolutely vile' abuse included insults about her looks and weight.

She continued: "To then be told to get a scalpel and cut it off my chest is just psychotic, I wouldn't ever show myself up and be so nasty and pathetic over a tattoo.

"She sent [me] a pig emoji and I laughed at it and then the next thing I was blocked."

The design has now been claimed by an artist in Cambridgeshire who said that they created the tattoo for a client who was not Evie.

She has now said that while she 'regretted going off on one', Charley has 'ruined' her tattoo.

The mum received a number of abusive messages from Evie including: "It's a f*cking original design. [...]. I've got an issue with someone copycatting MY design.

"Mate [you're] wearing my tattoo obviously [I'm going to] be ar**d."

Evie sent Charley abusive messages.

Charley explained that she had her tattoo customised with her children's dates of birth in Roman numerals, and there were various differences between the two tattoos.

These included darker shading and small lines instead of some of the leaves on Evie's tattoo.

Evie said: "She admits she copied. The tattoo I got was the idea from a drawing/stencil and not as if I got the idea from seeing the tattoo on someone else's chest like Charley did.

"And she literally says in her status she saw my chest, liked it and proceeded to get it - so yeah, she copied, which is my whole point."

Evie said that she wishes Charley had got the tattoo in a different place and varied the design more noticeably.

Would you get a similar tattoo to someone else?

The argument caused a storm on Facebook when screenshots of the abusive messages and tattoos were shared.

One commenter wrote: "Embarrassing on both ends."

A second added: "Wow, she sounds like a child! That's proper pathetic."

Charley is hoping that by sharing the debacle, she will encourage other people to get the tattoos they want and not worry if someone else has the same or a similar design.

"I know about seven or eight people personally who have the exact same arm piece as me and I genuinely could not give a flying sh*t," she said. "If you like the tattoo just get it."
