When somebody is getting married, they want their nearest and dearest with them on the big day. So naturally, receiving an invitation is a huge honour for each and every guest.

But for one woman, the invitation came with a barbed comment.

In fact, it was so off-putting that she turned down the invite all together.

The invite came with a rather unusual request.

The woman, named Angharad, took to social media to reveal what had happened and left people in shock at the bride's behaviour.

"Just got invited to a wedding in January…they asked me to try not to look pregnant because I’ll take attention," she wrote.

"Being as I’ll be 7 months pregnant I declined the invite.

"(Don’t even know why I was invited in the first place)."

Hmm, I take it that she'll be a no show at any bridal showers or hen dos leading up to the nuptials too.

Social media users were left outraged by the bride's request and took to the comments to slam her.

One remarked: "Give birth at it! That'd teach them!"

In response, Angharad said: "I'd be a bit too early."

Angharad turned down the invitation.

Someone else questioned why weddings revolved around attention: "I’ll never understand the obsession with being the absolute center of attention on your wedding day.

"What’s the big deal if one of the invitees is pregnant? It’s not like she’ll go out of her way to make herself noticed."

Another commented: "Did they expect you to just suck it in somehow and not breath for the whole wedding?"

That admittedly would be pretty impressive and would warrant diverting your attention from the bride and groom.

One person shared their own Bridezilla story: "It’s not the same, but someone once said they wanted me to be a bridesmaid as long as I could guarantee I wouldn’t have any seizures because it would take attention away from them.

"I was like '…why did you ask me?'"

It's obviously difficult to hide your pregnancy at seven months.

Ah yes, seizures can famously be pushed back to a more convenient time for everyone.

Who are these people?

Bridezillas seem to be everywhere you look these days, making their happy day everyone else's nightmare.

One blushing bride even cancelled her wedding after friends refused to chip in £1,170 ($1,500) towards the ceremony.

In a rant sent around her guests, the furious bride wrote: "Anyway. I am exhausted. I am bone tired. My heart is not the same. Its stone cold. Fragmented. Empty.

"I need to get away from this awful society. How hard would it to have been to f*cking donate, friends? Do I matter to you? Just f*cking give me money for my wedding. Won't even sugarcoat."

The words 'dodged' and 'bullet' come to mind.
