A mum has filed for divorce from her adopted son whom she wed last year after finding his dating profile online.

Singing teacher Aisylu Chizhevskaya Mingalim, 55, had raised son Daniel Chizhevsky as her own after adopting him when he was just 14.

But she shocked her family and friends when she and Daniel decided to marry last year.

The pair faced massive opposition in Russia when they married in their Tatarstan Republic homeland seven months ago, when Daniel was aged just 22.

They then fled to the Russian capital Moscow after locals in their more traditional Kazan hometown turned against them.

Initially, things seemed to have been going well between the pair who changed their dynamic from mother and adopted son to husband and wife, with Aisylu saying it was 'perfect'.

"Our relationship is perfect. We can't live without each other. We are on the same wavelength," she told local media last year.

As a result of their unconventional marriage, Aisylu's other adopted children were taken away from her.

In October 2023, it was reported that she was fighting the authorities to try get her kids back.

And while she fought to legitimise her marriage to Daniel, Aisylu has now filed for divorce.

This isn't down to the backlash they received however, but because Daniel reportedly was found on dating apps and arranging hook-ups with other people.

Aisyla confessed she has filed for divorce and told local media: "I was embarrassed to admit it."

Aisyla isn't the only Russian woman to have undergone a rather unconventional marriage - Marina Balmasheva previously made headlines after revealing that she was leaving her husband to wed her stepson.

She'd known Vladimir ‘Vova’ Shavirin since he was seven-years-old.

At the time of their nuptials in 2020, Marina shared a video of her and Vladimir, then 35 and 20 retrospectively, at the registry office.

"We drove to the registry office, I didn't even have a hairbrush with me. The rings were in the car. There was a good mood and a little embarrassment," she wrote alongside the clip.

"After the registry office, we dressed in typical wedding attire and enjoyed a nice reception at a local restaurant with several guests."

She also revealed at the time that they were expecting their first child together, with their second baby going on to be born in March of last year.
