Horrified man only discovered boyfriend had 'secret wife and three kids' when she text him

A guy was left horrified to discover the man he'd been dating had a secret wife and children.

A few months into Josh Williams' romance with now-ex boyfriend Daniel (whose name has been changed for this article), the 26-year-old was optimistic that things were going well between them.

Having spent every weekend together, Josh thought he'd learnt most things about his new love interest and Daniel went on to ask him to be his boyfriend in June.

In light of their official title, Josh introduced his new beau to his parents - something he'd never done before.

But he came to regret his decision after learning of his lover's secret other life.

In August, Josh claims he received a shocking message on Instagram from Daniel's 'heartbroken' wife, Linda* (whose name has also been changed) claiming she'd checked Daniel's phone and 'wanted answers'.

Josh described how he searched through her profile to discover pictures of her and Daniel together with their three kids - leaving him feeling betrayed and guilty.

He claims he had 'no doubts or concerns' about Daniel while they were together and the pair planned to visit Italy together next year.

"I'd just finished work and I got a message from a woman saying she'd gone through Daniel's phone and she knew what was going on," he recalled.

"I looked at her profile and I could see he was in her pictures and they had kids. My jaw just dropped.

"I cried when I saw it. I felt super mugged-off and I felt betrayed and upset."

Josh sent an angry text to Daniel after hearing the news to sarcastically question if he'd 'forgotten' to reveal he had three children.

"I really trusted him," he went on.

"That's why I took him to meet my parents. I'd never done that before.

"He got on really well with my nephew, but little did I know that was because he had kids of his own.

"He didn't share a lot of information but I just thought he wasn't a very open person."

After Linda contacted him, Josh immediately apologised to her and said that he had no knowledge of their marriage or the fact that Daniel had children.

Meanwhile, upon contacting Daniel, he apologised to Josh for lying to him.

The care coordinator claims their relationship, which lasted six months but was 'official' for two, has ruined his ability to trust men.

Josh has since questioned if Daniel avoiding chats about his personal life should have been a warning about his secret family.

He's now shared his story in a bid to urge others to look out for these kind of red flags.

"I want to make guys more cautious about getting into things when they don't know anything about the man," he said.

Josh has since blocked Daniel and hasn't spoken to him since he confronted him over text.
