Mum-of-three outraged after being kicked out of cafe over screaming toddler

She called the decision 'absolutely disgusting'

One mum-of-three was left utterly outraged after being kicked out of a cafe over her screaming toddler.

The Aussie mum, Laura Edwards, has since slammed the Queensland cafe after claiming she watched a family-of-four removed from the establishment because their children were crying.

However, the cafe has now hit back at Laura's criticism and said the children were screaming and 'throwing things' for 15 whole minutes before the family were eventually 'apologetically' asked to leave the premises.

Speaking to FEMAIL, Laura said the parents had tried to calm down their children, aged two and three years old.

"It is sad and shows we have a long way to go from children being seen and not heard and understanding the research into the brain development of children," she told the outlet.

Talking about the cafe staff member who asked the family to leave, Laura continued: "He could have asked them if they needed any help or asked one of the parents to take the crying toddlers for a walk but he just kicked them out."

The Townsville Bulletin reports that Laura decided to film a video out the front of a cafe, located in Magnetic Island, angrily protesting the cafe’s decision.

However, the co-owner of Adele’s Cafe, Adrian Dall'oste, has since issued his response on the matter.

Adrian stated that the ordeal first started when the children reacted badly after being told they had to share a gelato between them, and went on to spent 15 minutes throwing a tantrum, which was affecting other customers.

He told the outlet he was 'confused' by Laura’s involvement in the matter, as 'it did not concern her', and that she had arrived after he had asked the family to leave.

Adrian explained: "One of the children swiped decorations from the counter and threw a steel flask on the tile floor.

"While leaving the children were screaming loudly, and the family sat outside at one of our tables.

"For approximately 15 minutes the children were crying and screaming, disturbing the other clientele trying to enjoy their meals and the ambience of the cafe."

He added: "The crying and screaming was constant and loud."

The cafe co-owner also claimed that the father of the two children shouted at him after he 'apologetically asked them to leave'.

"I walked back into the cafe to avoid any more confrontation as they became quite vocal," he added.

The cafe co-owner claimed the children were 'screaming and crying' as well as 'throwing things' for 15 minutes.

Recalling the situation she went on: "It wasn’t a meltdown or tantrum, my kids make more noise than these kids do, it was just a grizzly kid needing some help to sort through his emotions at the time.

"The parents were sitting down with them, they weren’t running riot.

"As the guy went back inside I went over to the family and I said, 'Excuse me, are you getting kicked out because your kid’s crying?'

"He said, 'Yeah, they just told us to leave because of it', and they seemed a bit shocked and upset and both kids at this stage, both of them were crying."

She then claimed she had an argument with the staff, during which they allegedly told Laura their cafe was 'not a creche'.

"I think sometimes you do get looked down upon when having kids, especially if they’re having tantrums and stuff, but their brains aren’t fully developed at that age, and they need help to process those emotions," she added.
