Millionaire gifts daughter £200,000 Range Rover as 'push present' after giving birth

Millionaire gifts daughter £200,000 Range Rover as 'push present' after giving birth

He can't stop splurging on his new granddaughter

Most new grandparents gift their child some much-needed baby essentials, such as baby grows or some cuddly toys, as they enter parenthood - but this multi-millionaire grandpa went one step further.

Millionaires Barrie and Tony Drewitt-Barlow - who are now separated - have never shied away from splurging on their family.

And Barrie was over the moon when he announced his 23-year-old daughter, Saffron, had given birth to baby Marina on 24 June.

The 51-year-old Mancunian businessman, who's worth a staggering £200 million, announced proudly on Instagram: "My girl had a girl of her very own today...

“Tony Drewitt-Barlow and I could not be prouder of Saffron Drewitt-Barlow and Conor Tucker for producing this little Princess for our family. Our first granddaughter and a new princess to spoil.”

Updating Fabulous magazine he said: “Saffron is doing so well."

He then revealed his lavish 'push gift' to his daughter, saying: “I have bought her a new Range Rover Vogue which was $250k (£200k) but at the Miami house, we already have a fleet of cars including Lambos G-Wagons, and Rolls.

“We bought her a full wardrobe of clothes as she was complaining she didn’t fit into anything and we decided to do the same for the baby and her husband at the same time, so we had our stylist go shopping to Prada and all the designer shops.”

The dad-of-eight, who now has three grandkids, previously announced that he'd splurged on Saffron with a £1 million home and a £5 million trust the same weekend she was born.

"I’ve instructed a team of interior designers to go in and totally renovate it for her," he told Fabulous.

"And, as this is Tony’s first grandchild, he has set up a £5m trust fund for her, so she is already a multi-millionaire.”

The excited grandpa can't do enough for his family.

And that's not all: "We spent thousands on clothes and nursery items, but this is my first granddaughter and I want her to have everything.

“Everything was bought from Harrods in London and shipped over to Miami Beach. Nothing was too much money or trouble. And it never will be.”

Saffron is currently living in Barrie’s £18 million Miami beach house - she wanted to give birth in the US so her daughter would have an American citizenship, like she does.

“Although they don’t want a nanny and doing all the baby work themselves, they still have a team of housekeepers and our personal chef," Barrie added of their lifestyle.

“They plan to be there for at least eight months and then return to the UK.”

Barrie and ex Tony, who were together for 32 years, made their money from a trans-Atlantic surrogacy business and a global medical research company.

A few years ago, Barrie announced he had started a relationship with her daughter's ex, Scott.

The pair are engaged and share Valentina, two, and baby Romeo, who arrived last August via surrogate and was (of course) gifted a £2.5 million yacht.
