A mother of five has gone viral and shocked her followers after showing off her unusually-shaped baby bump.

Michella Meier Morsi had been documenting her progress while carrying triplets when people started to notice that her baby belly was particularly long.

The Danish mum quickly racked up a whopping 260,000 followers on Instagram, who admitted they were "speechless".

Before she gave birth to triplets Charles, Theodore and Gabriel, Michella confessed that she was struggling with "extreme pain" as a result of the baby bump that grew "straight out" rather than "up and down."

Throughout the journey, Michella's followers have had nothing but praise and admiration for her.

One fan commented: "Wow... the female body is absolutely amazing ❤️"

"That looks oh so uncomfortable. You poor thing. Well done," wrote another.

A third added: "All pregnant women are cool but you are simply in another league."

Eventually, Michella had no choice but to undergo a c-section just 35 weeks into her pregnancy - a process she was understandably terrified for.

Ahead of the big day, she updated her followers, writing: "The day before the day. Tomorrow morning we'll be a family of seven."

She went on to say: "I started crying like crazy when the hospital phoned earlier today to give us practical info on where to go, what to take before etc. Having three babies feels so unreal and it's like my head can't handle it."

Despite her nerves, Michella was proud to announce the birth of her three sons this month after "the wildest 36 hours."

Thankfully, she revealed that the birth went better than she had thought, but the postpartum recovery was less forgiving.

She told followers: "I'm in grotesque pain. And right now I cannot see myself out of that nightmare... Fortunately it helps lying with three adorable boys on your chest. Yep, I've already had the pleasure of having them all up at once. And it was completely magical!"

Now, Michella is in the process of recovery, and it sounds like it won't be an easy ride.

Just ten days after giving birth to her triplets she confessed that, while her stomach is "significantly smaller", it's still "incredibly painful."

Among her long list of recovery pains, the new mum described her stomach as felling like "a big black mark", adding that it "even hurts to breathe."

We're wishing Michella a speedy recovery!
