A massive cosmic event has seemingly been throwing everything into disarray this month.

The phenomenon kicked off earlier this month and is set to go on until the end of August and there are a bunch of symptoms you could experience as the shift goes on.

And some experts reckon the cosmic event can impact our lives in a number of ways.

What actually happens during this time?

Well, if you hadn't already guessed, all this chaos is apparently all down to something known as Mercury retrograde.

"This planet has a strong impact on all things communication - emails, online shopping, texts, conversations, speeches and even contracts," celebrity astrologer Inbaal explained on behalf of Tarotoo.

She added that even the most conversational of individuals may find themselves stunted during the period, and that chatting in person and via the telephone could lead to some serious miscommunication.

We could also see important emails going missing, passwords getting accidentally changed and phone numbers being deleted as communication takes a hit.

And there's not just social stuff like friendship fall-outs, relationship issues, work uncertainty and general miscommunication - there are also apparently a bunch of symptoms to be wary of too.

Brain fog

If you've been experiencing difficulty processing information, forgetfulness, problems with concentrating, feeling overwhelmed by simple tasks and general mental fatigue - you may have a case of brain fog.

Astrologers and dating experts alike believe that Mercury retrograde can really impact our mood and therefore the inter-personal relationships in our life.

"During these periods, we’re prone to saying the wrong words and taking things the wrong way," Flirtini's dating expert, Anastasiya Pochotna, explained.

Anxiety

The dating expert also went on to warn symptoms of brain fog may lead to situations of conflict which, in turn, can result in anxious thoughts and feelings.

She said that a 'simple misunderstanding' may end up leading to a 'full-blown argument' which may start to feel like your love life is 'spinning out of control'.

"Even experts who don’t believe in astrology recognise the phenomenon — but they attribute it to heightened feelings of stress and anxiety simply because we’re waiting for something bad to happen," Anastasiya added.

Headaches

And as if things couldn't get even more taxing, there's the physical pain of a headache to deal with on top of all of all.

Philsopher and monk, Walter Gjergja, the co-founder and Chief Wellness Officer at the personal trainer app Zing Coach, claimed that there is a direct link between heightened anxiety and headaches.

"During Mercury retrograde, many people experience increased anxiety and stress, which can manifest physically as headaches, muscle tightness, and weariness," he told the New York Post.

"It can alter sleep patterns, exacerbating stress and weakening the immune system."

It's gonna be a rough month, guys.
